Why Kush strains popular?

It's all about the type of high people want. Most of todays younger crowd hear about Kush in songs and culture. In fact, most of what people call kush is just indica. The younger ones like to get "stoned" where as the older, more experienced seems to like to get "high" which is more of a sativa high.

IMHO, stoned = indica and high = stavia. The ones who have not smoked but a few years have only experienced a "stoned" type of buzz. Usually, stavia strains take to long to flower and therefore are not the first choice of commercial growers.

Personally, I like a kush for a change of pace. However, I grow Kali Mist for my personal stash and whenever I get "kush lovers" high with my Kali Mist, they can't belive the difference. It's all they talk about simply due to their inexperience with sativa strains. I am not saying it's better by any means. It's just the younger, inexperienced smokers only know about Kush. It all boils down to experience and personal preference. If all you have ever eaten is hamburgers and then suddenly you are given a filet mignon, you will want the filet over the hamburger 99 times out of a 100.

Whenever I give someone a choice who has smoked both types between a kush or my Kali, they always choose my Kali. When I give those a choice who have never tried my Kali, they want the Kush. It's all about what smokers are use to smoking.

As I have said, I like a kush for certain types of situations. However, a good sativa would always be my first choice. Kush is overrated IMHO and Sativas are underrated mainly due to the fact most smokers just don't have any idea the difference between the 2. All it would take is some rapper to write a song about a certain Sativa and BAM! all the youngsters would be demanding it from their supplier.

the word/phrase "kush" is incorrectly used, over and over again.
kinda like how "the chronic" was 10 years ago.

thats the "problem".

bubba kush & og kush have different flavors & highs than trainwreck and super silver haze.
doesn't make them worse doesn't make them better

i get more $$$ for real bubba & og (I hate growing OG pain in the as low yeilding plant that smokes great) than i do for trainwreck or super silver haze but that doesn;t make one better than the other for the end user. some folks can take heavy indicas first thing in the morning and some can't
so i guess i shouldn't be calling people pussies because they cannot take the alcohol equivelant of a whiskey shot first thing in the morning, and repeatedly thruought the day and still be productive... EVERYONE GETS HIGH DIFFERENTLY ... some people are just harder hard core heavy smokers than others are used to lol

Yeah just what i was thinking. People want the same stone because they have not tried the nice sativas or a blend of the sativa/indica spectrum which if grown right is real good bud.
Around here you just get the dimes that are mainly indica and the kb usually is more potent than dimes but heavy on the body as well but you might as well call it kush because afterwards you are asleep or eating the fridge. Shitty weed we need more of the variety from above so people will know what it means different quality kb. Makes sense lol

hindu kush litterally translated means "hindu killer" as in wicked ass mts. where the weather changes for the worse very quickly, thus keeping the indians away...anyway, that warm, earthy, chocolatey, kushiness is second only to the nepali in my book as far as old world hash goes..and only barely! I swear I have receptor sites in my brain for hash tastes...must be genetic memory handed down from alexander's army....I need another hit!:eyesmoke:

I just crossed a male white master to the nepali temple indica...I'm thinking of calling it 'snow leopard'...we'll see if we get any keepers...and I'm waitin' til the 20th. for my white master/masterK north(coffee kush) to finish(5 wks.)...I'm hoping for a slightly snowier m.k. with a hint of cherry.

Why is it that I cannot help but believe that you never smoked Dalat or Panama Red in your entire life?
I wouldn't be surprised. I haven't seen any Panama Red since 1980! Most of these guys weren't even born yet...

We used to get PR when I was stationed down in FL. It was dark chocolate brown with orange hairs. Super hard compacted nugs with lots of seeds. It looked like schwag!

One hit would send you into space. The more you smoked the higher you got. Virtually no ceiling! The old Columbian Gold and Acapulco Gold was the same way.

I tried growing some Gold indoors but they all grew too tall and took 12 weeks to finish!

the temple indica is bagseed from one of the best local growers...the dealer said it was nepali purple.... and I haven't seen it online, but the taste is none other than the nepali gushiness!!!! I love that taste. I've never tried the nepali sativa(unless it was in some hash).

i would say it is pretty danm close, alot of breeders start with or have pure kush genetics.but dont know much about nirvana.but pure kush strains are not all that hard to find,im sure a lot of kush strains have a bunch of fancy names but are land race kush.
