I'm a semi-newbie. I'm on my 3rd grow with the aerogarden. I used it to start indoors and then transplanted outdoors. I did well for guessing, lol! They quality was good, but the yield was low. However, I decided, with the help of all these threads, to do a full aerogrow. I'm 2 weeks into flowering and my babies are looking good, but they haven't shown their sex yet. For additional lighting I have a 27w full spectrum shining on the front and 2 27w in regular lamps on each side in addition to the aerohood. No pics at this time. I also just purchased a 2nd aerogarden at the Target clearance sale. I figured this way I would always have "production". This is something I do for medical/personal use. My husband has MS, but we would be lying if we didn't admit to enjoying good smoke!! My only concern is do I have enough lighting for a decent yield?? Thanks! BTW, I only noticed 1 other female grower??? C'mon girls, where's the love?

haha yea you gotta represent for the ladies, take a look around there here

how many plants are currently in the system?

If you can get some good clamp fixtures, and some "Y" socket's for the bulbs, i would try to have at least 6 of those lights, 3 fixtures, 2 bulbs each, preferably SOFTWHITE, tho the multi spec arnt bad, but you can use some good red spectrums in there

5 are currently in there. All are super healthy looking! 1 died early on and I broke one. I actually stuck the broken one in a pod in the "new garden" and it's growing some roots, so not all was lost. I do use the soft lights in my "lamps". I had been curious about the red spectrums. I should add that I'm lucky enough to live in a spot where I can take advantage of nice sunlight coming in the day as well. I don't have to have my babies stuck in a closet. I also invested in the ff nutes and that was a GOOD investment. I never had a ph problem and I noticed the growth between this grow and my previous as been AWESOME!! This lighting is the only thing baffling me at this point, since I was formerly prone to mother nature doing her thing.

Yea its hard to match the sun haha, if you can find bigger actual wattage CFL's i would go with those, cause you can get the 100 actual watt, 150 watt replacement bulbs, i have currently 10 going in my cab, but its because there 23 watt, 100 watt equevilents, for 4 plants, which now 2 maybe 3 are male :(

Oh no doubt, I'll keep you updated. I've been reading LOTS of your posts and learned alot! In my opinion, some people just make this too complicated!!! We stumbled onto the aerogarden because it just looked like it made sense to start the seedlings and it worked GREAT!!! It's common sense that a good root system makes for a healthy plant, right? We've got a short growing season here and I was never able to keep a plant alive during the winter indoors?!? I believe that's just me, my houseplants all die too, yet my outside plants are always nice?!? Now, with the help of this site, and based on what I'm seeing during this grow, I think I'll be able to do it now!!! This has become BY FAR my favorite hobby....hahahaha!! Thanks again!!

I went to the local thrift store today and the growing gods were good to me. I found a 4 fixture light pole, dirt cheap. SO I went and bought me some nice soft lights to put in them. I also hooked up a nice reflective clamp light we had here. I think with my full spectrum light, lamp and the additional lighting I should be in good shape now :). I'm toying with getting another full spectrum lamp for my next grow in the winter months. I like the idea of lights that simulate natural light. I try to be organic as possible. I'm also going to get a red spectrum bulb for the reflective clapm light...just ran out of time today. However, I feel pretty happy with my setup now.

you've done a masterful job documenting and updating this process. I am a newbie to this (planted first time Jan 15th), ready to flower now, and you have helped me every step of the way. Thanks, buddy.
