Hi, My name is Solstice and I quit smoking cigarettes 5 days ago.

This has been one of the most stressful weeks of my life.

Anyone else going through the same thing? I could certainly use some support.

Good for you. 5 days is great. I've tried like hell to quit smoking but somehow I keep going back to it. Keep up the good work. I wish I had some more helpful advice.

Never smoked cigarettes myself, and find the whole concept of how somebody gets started smoking them in the first place a little perplexing. Why anyone would choose to smoke/become addicted to something that doesn't at least "get you high" is beyond me, but glad to hear you're quitting. Those things will put you six feet under faster than just about anything next to hard drugs. Good luck.

Yea, I just put out a HR cigarette a minute ago.... :blsmoke:

Try regular exercise, doing so produces chemicals that make you feel good. ;-)

When you get a craving, take a walk or jog. If you have a dog or dogs take them along! Do some push-ups, distract yourself from those thoughts/cravings and redirect yourself into doing something beneficial.

I did this cold turkey. No patches, gum or any other crutch.

I have noticed a different level of awareness.

i'm in the process of quitting myself. i think quitting weed was much much harder for me. but im back to that, and nixxing the smoking. the first time i quit i ate a lot and i hated it, so i went back. now i fill my time with more productive things like someone said exercising, and art, and a lot a lot of video games. it seems difficult at times but if you have people to support you or if you just have things to fill your time with, then you'll be fine =)
