Hey everyone i have 2 different strains growing right now and they are about a week into flowerings. Approximatly 4 days ago i noticed that on my train wreck that some of the branches coming off the main stalk going to the leaves are turning a reddish purple color and is starting to spread into the main stalk. Just trying to figure out if this is a major problem or not and what i can do to fix it. Thanks for all the help everyone on this site has always been great with their advice.

Red stem is often the first sign of a nitrogen defciency. This can be because you need to add Nitrogen or you need to adjust your PH so that your plant can actually absorb the Nitrogen.

Almost all clones have red stems.. this is not a problem at all.. But when you have a plant that has a green stalk and it is 3 weeks old and you still want to veg it for 3 more weeks and you notice that the stalk is starting to go red and spread to secondary growth, then you should take some action... It could be a tempature issue also whats your temp at?

Eventually the plant will/can turn completly red and all the stems will become spindley and brittle...

ALWAYS check your PH first...

and now you KNOW

It's likely genetic. Are you saying "solid" purple/red stalk or streaks of same?

I've come to expect these fancy schmantzy strains to have purple streaks and would likely worry if they didn't.
Some strains do remain green and those would be showing a deficiency if they started turning red. (Phosphorus, I think, but you'd wanna look further)

My room temp when the lights are on is 72-74 degrees and when the lights are off it holds steady at 72 the red/purple color is streaky. I use foxfarm fertilizers and have only been using grow big during veg. Saturday i will start with big bloom and tiger bloom. My soil ph is 6.7 and i add water that is at least 5.8 to 6.1 everytime but can't get the ph of the soil to drop i use foxfarms ocean forest
