you can/ downside quality,yeild you need to get hps for flowering. big boost
u could definitly grow a crop using only a mh. depends on the wattage,as long as its not like a 20w mh bulb or something then yeah it would be fine

i just threw my mother into flowering and shes going to take 60 - 90 days to flower right ??? and i need to leave on vacation so was going to turn my veg room into flowering and just start flowering everything i have, i just didnt want to go buy another hps maybe later if i want to but for now i am going to use a 600 mh bulb to flower pic below of what i am going to try and flower ........ so this will be fine right ??

Yup MH can flower. I would just supplement with like 4 42 W 2700K CFLs to give them plants their spectrum.

I have a 400w mh that I went through most of the grow with. I have just got a new hps so the last 2 weeks will be under that. The quality is just as good as a hps but the buds take a little longer to finish. Check out my sig to see the grow.

their really is none. back in the day that's all the old timers used as that all that was available. i remember back then buying the smoke and it was some good shit. yes times did change and new inventions came out, and here came the hps. ya you get more of the full spectrum but the mh will do dam near as good as the hps.

very doubtful you will see any difference other than inheent genetic variations, unless they are clones...

i don't see a big difference. let us now what becomes of your idea. there is nothing wrong with a plant getting natural sunlight even if the are moved back and forth. when you do this make sure the temps in and out are around the same as you do not want the big difference in temps.

Here's the only pics I have of my MH nugs. I didn't feel like waiting 3 months for them to fill out, but the quality is there. I think I pulled her at 7 weeks, but....... metal halide nugs do a body good. If you're growing for weight, I'd suggest a MH/HPS combo.
