Auto-Flowering plants

hey all..

first time grower and have beentold for small indor grow an auto flowering plant is my best bet. now heres the bigg noob question....what exactly does auto flowering mean? do i still need to keep in on a light cycle? thanks in advance for any input..

Auto-flowering means that the plant has no or a short vegging period. The result is a harvest in 60 days or so with a smaller plant. AF's will flower under 24 hours of light as they don't need to be turned to 12/12 like normal strains.

The main thing to remember with autoflower's is that no matter what they will produce buds no matter what cycle you have it at. Whether its at 12/12, or 16/8 or even 20/4. I am trying Lowryder #2 from joint doctor and have heard that 20 hours on and 4 hours off is optimal for auto flowers.

I think for a first time grower autoflowers is a good choice. They re not as sensitive and finish minimum of a month earlier which is always nice.

You can still yield 1oz-2oz depending on your set up which is not bad considering alot of people flower their (normal)plants at 12" which will only grow to about 3 ft meaning about 3oz.

So for the -1 month the plant takes and the leinancy I feel they give its a good call. The potency is slighty lower but WAY better still than any commerical cannabis bought from drug dealers.

one of the best and ORIGINAL autoflowers are joint doctors strains..hes the orignal breeder..and all thse copycats have started making crap starins to profit on the autofllower novelty....anyways,20/4 is best for A.F plants.....they will veg for about 2 weeks,males will shwo sex around 19 days..females around 21 days FROM SEED...I would love to try auto flowering plants..but theyr too expensive man

thanks all for the advice...was thinking of giveing the joint doctors diesel ryder..farel2 what do you do about set up and temp?

I currently have 10 Lowrdyer #2 from Joint doctor. I have it in a hydro set up (which i have never tried before) I have mine under a 400 w HPS and a 200 flourescent . I am using the drip system because i want to see if hydro will increase the yield of these little guys and have my temp the same as i would for normal plants. Try to keep it around 72-78 while the lights are on.

The amount of growth is crazy. I hope to do a grow journal jsut im a little worried about the security risk of that.

As for someone saying they would do it if it wasn't expensive. 10 feminized seeds are like 115$ and u get minimum 10 oz to about 20oz . So for 115$ plus set up thats not bad. This is all in 2 months from seed to weed as well.

I was a doubtful person about the autoflowers till i grew them and now i am glad i tried it out.

My babies are only in the early stages of veg but comparing them to normal plants. Id say they grow about twice as quick. This all depends on your circumstances. I am going to be putting these under a 1000w HPS so the growth i expect to be amazing. Autoflowering plants now a days can grow to about 2 ft and so with a good grow set up and hydro set up the growth. I have a friend whos seeds broke 1 week and 2 days before myself and with my lowryders they germinated 8/10 in less than 24 hrs and the other two within 48. Now they have more leaves and are all taller than my friends. So the growth is noticable. Hahaha he is getting jealous because of it

400w HPS with nutrient you can expect VERY MINIMUM of about an oz per plant. Even with 400w its very normal to clear 1.5 oz per plant and even up to 2 oz.

As for yield outdoors in the south sun. Im sure it would be just great!!!! are the days long>>??? cause lowryders do need a lot of light to make up for the short veg and flowering times. The plant is made for both outdoor and indoor. So i think it would do amazing outside.
Id say its worth it ..... so do it haha

Simple solution there; put your plants in pots and put them outside for the light portion of the day and then in the evening put them under a light for a few more hours then stick them back outside. It will cost a little in power but not near as much and then you can grow homegrown beatiful cannabis.

I plan to plant some lowryders in the between my tomato plants because the lowryders wont get higher than the tomato's and so the cover will be GREAT!!!! however, im up north so gotta wait for that snow to melt haha

dude.....can i cool a 400w hpos in a smallish closet with just a inline fan sucking air out of the grow area??like if i have a vent tube slightly above the reflector,anjd have itm running the entire time the light is on..will it keep shit cool??

If you have your inline fan sucking air out and a fan or two blowing air around you should be good. What kind of dimensions are you tlaking when you say small??
