How to raise/lower the humidity levels?

My grow closet is currently at 31 humidity and 65f temperature....which leads me to my question..

How to I raise the humidity levels? I was looking around and it says you need 50-60% humidity and 70-80 temperature.

So what can I do to raise these levels and what can I do to lower them?

Thanks

you can get a humidifier for about $20, you can raise the humidity to where you need it with that.. to drop it, i guess a dehumidifier or better ventilation. . my grow tent was really dry at about 20% humidity. . now its at about 50% with the humidifier. .

Ha ha thats the exact one I got I turned it on in my grow room and my humidity is up to 42 right now but the temperature is down to 64! I believe I need to buy a heater now to get the temperature up or this plant isn't going to grow anywhere!

put a bowl of water under the light... the evaporation will increase humidity
I did this and the effect was minimal - you will probably need an actual humidifier to make any significant change in rH.

To increase you temps, I would just lower the light - the closer your light is to the plant, the better.

Alright thanks ill try the light idea....

Just went out and bought a warm mist humidifer and the steam coming out feels quite good and has already raised the temperature by 2 of the grow room.

Ill try this out for abit longer and if the humdity happens to get too high so as the temperature ill just switch back to the cool mist and it should hopefully even things out.

The warm mist saves me quite abit since I will no longer have to buy a mini heater.

Is it ok to use a humidifier in the room if my grow lights do not have a plastic cover on them. I would not want the bulb to explode while I was gone or something.

theres no need for a heater. how well are you venting and what kind of lighting. usually if your lights dont keep them at about the right tmep then you dont have enough light. and if the temp is too high you can vent to cool the air. i would try to keep your temp around 75

So a cool mist humidifier will not pop my bulbs? Thanks for the info.:weed:

well, im not exactly sure, i dont see how it could though if you put your hand up to it, it feels like a fan. with the warm mist you could feel and see the hot moist air evaporating very close to the light. . you can see where i have my humidifier. . you cant see the light, but its right above the plants its a 400w hps.

I have good ventilation its in a closet that is near a window with lots of air flow, and i have only one light bulb and at the current time the temperature is 68F...so if I get a few more light bulbs at about 23w it should increase the temp?
