Best Nutrients for Quality at Any Price

I don't doubt bio bizz is a good product but attributing any taste or smell to a nutrient is ridiculous.
While I would agree in general, a friend who grows with the Nectar line proved to me there is something to what is used.

Although the bud itself was a little on the weak side, the flavors he created are some of the best cleanest and fruitiest tastes and smells I have experienced. It was imo very much the nutrient line. There were several flaws in his result but taste was off.the chart in purity of flavor.

Those nutrients can bankrupt a home grower...but he loves it. Maybe the nectar line is for OCD folks, he does love measuring and having 100 bottles on his shelf lol.

If you think nutrients were responsible for "some of the best cleanest and fruitiest tastes and smells I have experienced" then I have a bridge to sell you.

That seems likely, but science says otherwise

I'm not claiming NFTG was the only reason, but I do believe it made a difference in flavor. Someone who uses that line might be able to comment.

While it may seem foolish to attribute it to the nute line, I sure don't think he did something special or had unique genetics. He is an average at best grower but creates amazing flavors. Like Kool-Aid.

He would have had the same results using GH 3 part, Jacks, Megacrop, Floranova or even Miracle Gro if he's a competent grower. The choice of nutrient brand is irrelevant.

Since you think the nutrients had a role in the increased flavors and smells, what do you think is different about that nutrient line?

Nutrients are nutrients, there's no mystery ingredient that makes one better than another. With all things being equal it comes down to genetics.

Have you ever had a great tomato from a home garden and the mediocre ones from the store? The difference is not that one has NPK and the other doesnt. So how are they different? Many factors right? But one is the better quality soil used in most home gardens. If that's a LOL then hey do your thing.

You didn't answer the question.

What is specifically different about that nutrient line that would create "some of the best cleanest and fruitiest tastes and smells I have experienced"?

The main reason store-bought tomatoes suck is because they were picked waaaay before they're ripe. They're packed green on a refrigerated truck, dosed with ethylene to turn them red. The other reason is the store-bought tomatoes are bred to prioritize shelf-life over taste.

Nothing to do with the nutrients
Nothing to do with the soil

Same results? Really? You have never seen head to head comparisons then. If it's all the same why say..."even" Miracle Gro? Because you know they arent the same.
Hate to tell you guys, but to some extent you are wrong. It's pretty clear that ample levels of Sulphur will indeed increase terps and flavor. If you are using a nutrient line which is lacking in Sulphur, your flavor may suffer as a result.

2835, who cares, really? I dont know, and it's not enough to make me change from water only soil grows to those insanely expensive nutrients. One or more of the supplements may be adding flavor. Or not.

You always seem excited to argue over something. I'm buzzed and enjoying things. I make no claims theres some magic in there. I observed it tasted different and very good. Does it bother you that I think what I do? Sure seems like you have an issue more than my liking the taste from the NFTG grow. Open your mind and relax.

I mentioned Miracle Gro because its available everywhere
I get your points but disagree
Most competent growers would not do well with MG. They COULD...but not as well as with other lines. Same ingredients, results will differ

Store fruit and veges mostly suck and I do agree under ripe shipping is the norm, but I also believe there are qualitative differences in the end product.

Of course I could be wrong!

Lots of other supplements and micros. Molasses. Many things in soil we probably still dont know about.

Other than Dyna-Gro, there's ample sulfur in all the nutes I've used. Most tap has some as well.

I’ve been using Athena for a couple years, alternating between blended and pro lines and while yield and bag appeal is amazing, I feel flavor and nose leave a little be desired. I also feel they are more marketed towards commercial grows looking for the best quality at the cheapest price.

I grow on a small scale indoors and looking for the best quality period. At any price. I alternate between coco and rockwool. Drain to waste with netafim drippers.

Also need it to mix clean and be able to last in the res for a couple days at a time. I’ve used house and garden and heavy 16 and everything gets gunked up after a bit. Even the Athena pro line clogs my drippers as the salts don’t break all the way down even with an aeromixer.
I like general hydroponics...they're cheap and work good.

I agree. When I used Earth Juice and made teas all the time, my buds were the smelliest and tastiest yet. I haven't fully figured out why yet though. My first thought was the guano, or molasses that I was using to feed the microbes in the teas. But now I'm kinda thinking it might be because I had lots of microbes due to the teas and the plants we're getting everything they wanted.

I'm a believer in making sure you have enough sulfur too, along with K. Sulfur definitely makes a difference.
