I've had 8 major and some minor op... nothing to it..it's not like it was years ago when you'd wake up real sick... I love smoking after surgery.. my Dr. would see me at the ambulance bay and he'd just shake his head, but they'd rather that you're up and about.. thats the big thing you need to do.. every extra day you're down you risk infection, and lung issues.... plus I always felt better getting a buzz and exploring.. I even used to go to the pallitive care (dying) ward and smoke with people..

Ag the worst that happened to me is I felt pricly like takeing a bath after rolling in grass for a few seconds on wakeing up...

Interesting thing, while on this kind of topic, never take vitamin C before going to the dentist... it seriously negates the novacaine.

Had a few scopes (GERD) and also was out for wisdom teeth removal.. stoned like twit always.

The last time I had it I was awake in 30 minutes... then lied and said someone is picking me up at the stop and drop entrance... and drove myself home... I guess I have a bit of a tollerance for drugs.... even my dentist hates how much novacain I need generally.

next time I have surgery, I am going to ask to be 100% awake and alert. Going to be scary and crazy as shit, but I gotta find out...

I did that. It wasn't fun. I did not like hearing my skin and stuff ripping. It was horrifying...never again.

that's what I was thinking... like if I ever have to have... maybe my appendix removed... just be awake and alert the whole surgery from beginning to end... i know there aren't a whole lot of people who would ever voluntarily do that... but umm, it's not like it's open heart surgery... that would be some messed up stuff to be awake and alert for...

plus you would probably have a heart attack from freaking out being that your heart probably isn't in too good of shape to begin with if you're getting a surgery on it.

See that's what I would do... get knocked out. Your doctor is a giant dickhead for talking a patient into that... :spew:

That's something I think we can ALL agree on! :) I want to get a pet crow... but I feel like they don't make appropriate pets... I love how they sound though.

A friend had a knee replacement without being put to sleep..He said he'd never do it again.. the noise was one thing, plus not being able to move...

I am really glad that I'm not the first person to have this ridiculously poor idea... Knee replacement surgery sounds like it would just fucking hurt... Like there is some hacking away at the bones, and... I'm going to have nightmares when I nap in a few minutes.

I feel like crows would be nice because they are really beautiful birds... heh I get all emotional whenever I see a baby crow... they are like little kittens to me. Plus I think their loud call is a great way to alert me of anyones presence should an intruder ever come around.
