Best grow method for sog?

Also, don't be tempted to tap the vent stack for your drain, you could end up with drainage coming out your upper floor bathtub and sink overflows.

It’s a separate drain I’ve made Through the floor into room downstairs and then through wall and it goes into the drain in the ground outside

Just another thing to keep in mind, I am not sure how much water capacity you intend to place in a reservoir or drum up there but be sure the ceiling joists can handle the load.

When you say flora flex do you mean these?
Thats just a cap. They make the manifolds and spaghetti to go to the plants, you can buy just the parts you want and make your own larger setup with a larger pump feeding several of these 8 plant manifolds for example.

Depending on the setup you may want a solenoid valve on the main line thats plugged into the timer with the pump. This will prevent siphoning or gravity drainage of the reservoir when the pump is off.

My current setup has two 1000l ibc. Got a steel beam with 2x 6 joists

2x6 joists, spacing and span... as long as youve done the math on the space thats holding the weight of the res. Likely will be centered on your steel beam, hopefully.

Yeah I currently have a massive led setup with heat sinks wieghing 600 kilos of aluminium and two 1000l (1000kg) tanks for my nft setup so joists aren’t an issue

Joists are cross braced and 12 inch on center with steam beam through the middle and 22mm chipboard floor panels tongue and groove

We would love to see that! We are, for a large part, LED guys here.

Why so much heatsink? High wattage cobs? How many watts per sqft?

60w per square foot. I’m switching up to water cooling soon. I went for 25mm wide circular heat sinks from China 13mm long fins and 10mm solid surface before the fins.

4 cobs per heat sink and 15w each. But like I say I plan on scrapping vertical growing and using a larger flat plane of grow space with lower height restrictions

Ive posted a picture of it before throughout my struggles with growing on here I’ll find it a bit later and resend

Whew! The most I have ever ran with quality LED was 40 watts per sqft (cxm-22).

What chips?

I would avoid water cooling or any sort of active cooling if at all possible. How hot do the sinks get, like est chip temp?

It’s citizen 12/12 mix of 4000 and 3000 90 cri chips half and half on each sink.

They put out a shit Load of heat as they are mounted vertically.

I am thinking of running strip lights mounted on copper pipe so I can actively cool with water.
