Deep Water Culture Cloning/Air layer Cloning

Hello,
I've been reading a lot of guides and forums about cloning. My Main goal is to clone in a DWC system. I've all ways grow in soil. I want to get away from that. I made my self a little 2 gallon Deep water culture system with a double fish tank air pump, and 2 large air stones. I started a few seeds 2 weeks ago, and there growth is amazing. I plan on taking a few clones as soon as i can.
I've read in a few forum about using clonex gel and rhizotonic root enhancer.
Read in a few forums about keeping the water temp between 72F and 80F, read a few articles about soaking the cutting in tap water for 30 min.(The chlorine in the city tap water is going to sanitize the cuttings) read about soaking the clone in rooting solution, Also Foliair feeding which also makes sense. I've read post about never putting the cutting in water/nute soluton. I'm thinking if theres enough oxygen in the soultion you should be good to go. I've read alot of posts about Fungus rotting the roots. most of the cures for this were to clean your hydro-system better. also some people will take a cutting in two diffrent ways. some will cut them dip in a rooting gel. some will cut and then take that cutting and cut it under water at a 45 and then dip it. is there a proper way?

Air layer cloning-this is another option i was thinking about. where you make a smell slice along the spot that you want to clone, put rooting gel in the cut and cover it with a small piece of rockwool, and cover with plastic, and let it root right on the plant.

I'm interested in what you good people have experimented with. I could use rockwool, or perlite and vermiculite, but thats to easy. Has anyone tried just a solution? has anyone tried the air layer cloning? Thanks everyone :)

Geez, that sounds like you are really trying to make it difficult. DWC rooting is really easy, just put the cuttings in a cup of water, and change the water every day.

A little light on them and they root.

My point is that it's easy, and all the other stuff is just to achieve consistent results. A little IBA cloning gel or powder will help, a warm root zone and a good environment for rooting will help.

The air embolism is not a problem with cannabis, so you don't have to make the cutting under water.

ok cool. I was just a little paranoid after reading reading up on it. The DWC cloning that is.

What about the air layer? rooting right on the plant seems like a pretty cool idea.

Air layering is much more difficult than just cloning. Its also only really useful if you want to take a giant clone. Thats why most people dont even consider this they just cut the clones, much easier.

theres your basics, just work from there. Maybe make a small tote with an air stone and a lid to hold your clones. Powder or gel helps but isnt necessary. They dont need a lot of light or space. If you search around im sure you can find a handful of DIY bubble cloners

I was just talking about using DWC and Air layering. I like the idea of having your mothers in DWC and possibly using air layering to take of massive cuttings. I also think that when the mother gets all bare from cuttings being taken, You could Air layer the mother. Making her shorter and giving her a fresh new root structure.
