Straight forward LED question

Now we're like Siamese brain twins... Back to the lights though? What would you do if you were Nutz?
I'd DIY LED lights, and run three tents. I'd run different LED's in the veg tent than in the two flower tents. I haven't done it yet, but that's my plan as well. That is also my setup as far as the perpetual harvest, but with no cap. Those are about the same numbers I run though as far as plants.

what size space are you looking at doing?
it sounds like itll be pretty big. I would look into doing a diy build with boards, strips, cobs or even a mixture of those. It'll have a high upfront cost. but itll have the energy savings youre looking for. You can do great with around 60% of the power of HPS.

Great place to start.

My help stops there my friend, lol. I will follow you in your LED endeavor, though. I am going to be doing the same thing next summer.

I am kind of doing this with mine. taking clones at flip sit as clones 2-3 weeks then veg tent 6-7 weeks while waiting on the flower cycle to finish 8-10 week cycle.
Its not quite the same offset cycle but I should be able to do my two crops over the winter when its easier to control temps and not have to worry about dealing with growing in the heat of the summer.

My air conditioning bill isn't much. I use it in the house for me and the dogs only a few times a summer. My pole barn is where I intend to add the summer rooms and it's chilly in there all season.

Yeah I was just sayin why i squish mine together, I could probably do 5 12 plant harvests a year doing that though.

Everything I was reading and all the ppls recommendations told me to put 4 1kw hps in my 10x10 flower tent.
With the led panels i can position them better and get good spread, and with the lack of heat you can run them closer allowing me to get away with around 2600w of total power for good yields. I ran my first flower with only 1300w of led run close and it did ok, but doubling down on that should put me in an amazing place for around 2k total.

I'm very, very intrigues to the point I don't know whether to ask or wait for you to bake it more in your head lol..

I ran cool tubes hps 2" from a cola without herm or burn.

I'm already doing the 3 tent thing. I'm waiting for you to pull the trigger on this DIY build so I can watch and learn, hahaha.
Yea bro, it's gonna be an interesting year. I live on a few acres, was even thinking greenhouse but indoors is less of a security headache imo.

I have 3500k boards with 660nm and will be adding 3000k boards to that.
In my veg tent I have 2x 8 bulb T5 lights that i plan to get LED bulbs for eventually. They have 6500k HO bulbs in them now.

I had a cola pressing up against one of my boards run at 40% for several days and it just bleached it a bit. I thought it was growing up behind it but it was directly under it lol

Stuff like this makes me wish I had just built the 2 5x9 rooms instead of getting the big tent.

The only problems I ever had from running too close with vented hps is light bleach or foxtail. Surprisingly for me the foxtail comes on before the light bleach, when it happens.

Come summer I either have to go mini split AC, or LED. I'm thinking LED because it will be a major win/win as far as energy. Not only in the LED lighting, but not having to buy and run a mini split.
