I am a n00b Cloner

Alright, I am a n00b at cloning. I need help and ideas. I have read several other threads here and I still have questions. Please do not point me in the direction of the Growfaq. It is shit as far as cloning. go look for yourself, all the pics are not being hosted anymore, there are shitty MSPaint drawings.

I need real info.

I am doing the water method. I used root hormone. I cut using sterile equipment. 4 days later and the ends I cut are kind of brown. I cut at an angle.
Does this sound like it's going right?

I would like to see a pic of what spot to cut from the plant.

Some people say it takes 2-3 days to show root and some say up to 4 WEEKS?

Please HALP!kiss-ass

Mine take in 2 weeks or so. Keeping clones 18"-24" under fluros until they root speeds things up. Rooting in water is the least successful method . . . pretty hit and miss, IMO.

I take mine about 1/4 inch below any node w/growth. Don't have a pic.
Some scrape the stalk below the node, to the cut, to stimulate rooting cells. Just lightly w/something sharp, like a razor/knife.

ive never cloned a weed plant but i have rooted many other plants....

i prefer to ether just place in a jug of water or put in soil and sit inside a bowl of water!!

yes...it can take upto 4 weeks!!!

4 weeks my ass! use rooting hormone and jiffy pucks and you'll have roots in 7 days...
And you do need to reread the grow faq, they have multiple pages explaining how to clone with real pictures.

clonex rooting gel and jiffy pellets i always take two or three cuz they dont always take sometimes the ends just get really fat and white and never sprout roots

Water method doesn't work worth a shit on these plants, they need huge amounts of oxygen. stagnant water has none so the stems just rot. Rockwool cubes and 10-14 days should clone just about any cutting. Its not really important where you take the cutting off of, it just has to be a stem ( Leaves will never clone) and the bottom needs to be right below a node, you make your cut about 1/2" below the node, scrape it gently and put in hormone then transplant to RW cube. water cube 1 time per day with 1 table spoon of plain PH 5.8 water.

i have always used clonex and a humidity dome with light as close as you can almost alwats 9/10 of my clones made or all of them and make sure u mist them

side not i always take one them with at least 2 sets of nodes and cut the bottom nodes and make sure that part hit the cloning soulotion not saying you have to do it this way but thats how i do it and works great for me

MrFishy i have seen your posts on alot of clone threads, will you give a step by step on how you clone?

yes I have. You clip a brach at a 45 deg angle, wet it dip it in rooting hormone and put it in a peat pellet, Keep the clone in a humid environment for a few days and then remove the humidity dome and spritz twice a day until you see roots. It's not rocket science...

Are you jamming the clone in the medium?? and are you making a cut at the clipping end room for more roots?

Its always better to take clones from the lower part of the plant rather than the top.

I open a hole in the medium and squeeze it around the stem. You can take a clone wherever, but I do take it from the bottom branches.

Ok OP here again.

So I did what everyone said, peet pellet, humidity dome, spritzing, Never saw any roots but but them in dirt now. They are under low light but are starting to look like shit now, wilting leaves, some have bending stems. I did 12 clones from all over the plant including the top, which seems to still look the best. I also just checked the old ones I was doing under plain water and they still look really healthy but no roots.
I am cutting with correct tools, everything clean.
Why can't I just get this to work?
