So I’m on day 38 of flower and one of my girls has incredible genetics...beauty and beast double the weight of all my other plants and full of Trichs .... talking to another buddy who grows and he was saying that I should take a couple of cuttings and see if I can root them then re veg them and use the plant again my question is it is it too late in the flower process for me to clone this plant

Certainly won't hurt to try :)

It'll take a long time to reveg and root them. I would say up to two months. I don't know if it's too late, but remember that whatever you cut , won't grow back now that you're in flower. Take from the very lowest branches, where buds would be the least formed.

It’s a huge plant I’ll take a couple of cuttings from the lowest branches without hopefully causing too much harm and see if I get lucky wasn’t sure if I just be wasting my time I appreciate the info thanks again

I found it easier to just re-veg the flowered plant after harvest. i didn't even leave very much on the plant, maybe 5 tiny leaves, and 3 pinky nail nugs. new growth in 2 weeks. my monster crop cuttings have been much fussier. im sure others have better techniques and success rates.

I read somewhere to trim the root ball significantly. I trimmed 5 gallons down to 1 gallon, and repotted in a 2 gallon pot, with good soil, easy on the tap water, and 18/6 lights. i will clone this plant heavily, then flower it out for a second time.

Great idea so you’re saying to read veg the whole plant after harvest then cut the clones from the plant itself creating new clones during the vegetative state and see if I can flowe this bad girl one more time

It’s worth a shot the only bad part is that right now I’m in a Hydro system and I’m switching to Coco I think it through but that is a great idea thanks man

Yes it is possible! The best way is to get a cloner that mists the stem. It takes a little time but it'll be rooting Eventually. Just make sure it's a perfect environment and appropriate cloner, take more than one as well.

That’s the way that I’m leaning towards as well I don’t really want to re-veg the entire plant and then flower it again.. first cause it’s a Hydro right now and I’m switching to Coco on my next grow .... I think I’ll just take six or eight cuttings get ab appropriate cloner from the Hydro store and see if I can keep this genetic going ..I’ll look at one that mists the roots that’s probably gonna cost me a pretty penny and make sure the environment is flawless hopefully and keep it that way thanks again man

I use a 24 site cloner but can't for the life of me remember what it's called. Diamond or platinum something. It has a small pump that mists the roots

I'd say do both, or at least go ahead and take clones now, and then just for the learning xp, go ahead and try to reveg the mother. I've had some luck reveging and some fails, I think a lot depends on how advanced the senescence is by the time you chop, and leaving the right amount of leaves/branches. But I'll admit I've never tried it with a girl in hydro, just soil/hempy mix.

Once/if she revegs and you have new growth well established, then trim the roots and transplant to your coco coir medium. If you're talking about coir and perlite, aka a hempy bucket system, then it's just a different form of hydro, so you could still use the same nutes and she might make it. A few of my reveg attempts created some real big, healthy bushes with massive stalks, so worth a shot, imo.

Going to order an ez cloner tonight or tomorrow and hopefully start some clones in the next couple days I’m running into a bit of a problem thinking about revenging though.. I’m on eight buckets system where they’re all connected which has seem to be problematic for me I really would like to savers she is so beautiful and basely just not sure I have the room or resources I’ll definitely considered as time gets closer thanks for the heads up and information I really appreciate it

Hmmm, well don't know what kind of system you're running, is it DWC? If it is I wondering if there's a way so that once you're done with the harvest, you could either disconnect the mom plant's container, and either set up a smaller rez, or, since it's only going to be temporary, just plug the circulating tubes, then run air stones and/or a small fountain pump, and just do a one bucket DWC? Not sure if it's worth the hassle but I always like to experiment and push the boundaries a bit ;?D

Its a rdwc system... Great results but just very difficult to keep up and any little change in the atmosphere creates problems... plus the Constant water changes .. im ready for a little easier walk in the park... I do have an extra bucket that I could build a single DWC system out of and put her into I’ll see how these clones do and then when she’s ready to harvest see about possibly saving her Hopefully one more run
Thx

buddy of mine only clones at or around day 21... should root fine, day or two slower than normal. Will be slow to veg, and ugly as fuck when she does (lotta long single leaves, looking like a mutant basil plant)

Its OK, the genetics are still fine, dont freak out.... let her veg, she will explode into a big ass bush of your sought after cloned bud :)
