Any American website that says free shipping you should automatically assume it’s for the 50 states only. I do a lot of online shopping and have never once seen free shipping apply to international shipments. It’s always at the buyers expense when ordering from another country. Only time I’ve seen free shipping apply to international shipments is when ordering small items from China and they come by boat, where you will be waiting for quite some time to receive your order.

Then it should say Free domestic shipping. I often get free shipping from USA on Ebay, same from the UK.

Regular mail from America takes about 12 days.

I would of been happy to pay the Approx. $16 it normally costs me to get regular mail parcels from USA. (larger and heavier parcels I may add). They decided they didn't want to do that. Makes me wonder what the mark up is that they are pocketing..

Anyway, just a warning for others.

If you click on the link it says free shipping. https://growerslights.com/collections/led-grow-lights/products/horticulture-lighting-group-65-watt-quantum-board-led-kit
I cannot see anywhere where shipping is extra. Could you show me were it is I cannot find it? Normally that comes up before you check out so its all one payment with other sites.
As you go through the buying side of things, you see what I quoted TWICE before you enter your credit card details. I never went further to see if there was a third one. You hit the purchase button, enter your details, then in "shipping details" it tells you shipping to be billed separately. Go to the next page, payment details, the same is said clearly.

You have to read everything and not just the bits that say "free" and, well, you didn't.

You can't call a company "shit" because of your failure to read.

The only "warning" needed is one along the lines of "Don't be a plum and READ what is on the screen in front of your bloody eyes" for Stevie Wonder could have spotted the bit about shipping being billed separately.

I didn't have to enter my CC details I went thru pay pal. I didn't see that window, and that may have been my fault. I admitted that already. However I have screen shot the page where is says Free Shipping. It does not say Limited free shipping or Free domestic shipping or Shipping costs to be advised. It says Free shipping.

I am not calling them Shit for false advertising. I'm calling them Shit because they wouldn't entertain the thought of regular shipping over priority shipping. Priority shipping may arrive 3 to 4 days earlier but in general takes longer as priority shipping is normally tracked and tracked shipping spends longer at Customs.

PayPal still comes under "payment method", and it clearly states what I quoted on that page AND the one before it called "shipping method".

Your fault, you didn't READ what was in front of your nose, stop blaming someone else for your failure because you didn't do a simple thing like READ what is front of your nose.

And when you finalised your purchase you AGREED to their terms. You can't go changing things after you have done so. You were the plum, the company made everything clear, you did not read it, stop whining because you were too stupid to read and accepted terms you did not like.

Have to disagree on the China bit, I'm averaging 10 days on free shipping on small items, since I don't buy big items from there, they've gotten their act together now so it's much better than the old "a month is quick" days.

I went thru pay pall so they get my shipping address at check out.

But yes, trying to purchase these lights has been hard. Ive been trying sense before Christmas....
But I agree if its not a blatant rip off (thats a huge shipping cost) its poor design or at the very lest false advertising.
Not a rip off just your ignorance. Ur in auz there are customs charges and im paying 48 quid to get mine Sent to Ireland thats very reasonable so stop spreading fudd about a magnificent business

That bit about delivery won't come up on the final payment for "international" orders, it's separate as they say. My guess for their reasoning is that they don't get many international orders so have to contact couriers for costs as they won't have a deal set up with DHL/UPS/whoever so do each one individually.

Doesn't change how even if the plum had not gone through the same "checkout" procedure I did, and had hit the "PayPal" button from the shopping cart, there would have still been notifications telling him that delivery charges were extra, and he would have had emails telling him this too.

Either way, he can't blame the company for his own ignorance. Even if I order from somewhere in my country, before I order I ALWAYS make sure I know what the delivery method is, if it's from overseas I ALWAYS make sure I know what the score is as these Terms and Conditions are vital when it comes to something going sideways with the order, you have to know YOUR rights so you are able to crucify the bastards if necessary.

The plum didn't, he just saw a four letter word beginning with "F" and thought that applied across the board because he didn't confirm that, and whining about it afterwards, even after being proven to be wrong and then thinking the company should change the T&C's he agreed to because he didn't like what he agreed to because he didn't read and understand the T&C's, makes him look like a four letter word beginning with "C".

PS. RTFT, he didn't buy from HLG...

No, it should be left as a warning to others, something like "Make sure you understand the terms of any purchase or you will be called a number of things when you whine about something caused by your own stupidity".
But they're such a cool company to deal with it just pisses me off this sites full of misinformation as it is.
Attacking a business cuz hes dyslexic isnt cool

Maybe they should get a really good web programmer and add $50 to the price of the light.
If you still don't know that this is how most US companies ship globally, then you have some learning left.

You purchased off a different company..I tried purchasing the HLG lights from Growerlights. Completely different invoice and selling company. I am not upset with HLG.
Stephen from HLG even said at the top of this thread to see if they would negotiate on a shipping price.Tthey would not ship regular shipping which is wayyy way cheaper and doesn't , as someone thought, come by boat..lol..its not the 1800's.

I appreciate you standing up for HLG, I do, but you seem to have missed my main gripe. The shipping cost and them refusing to ship at a cheaper rate. Not HLG, Growerslights.

I have larger more heavier packages shipped regular from the States for $15 regular postage. Why would I want to pay $47 and get it around the same time anyway? Why wont Growerlights ship that way?

Anyway I have purchased some LED strips and driver from the UK and guess what? Its Free regular international shipping.
