The 300 watt cree 6 cob kit looks appealing as well seems it would have better coverage or no? It's also 100 bucks more. And for 20 less watts

The description says they're using QB288s (they also use the term "Quantum Boards"), but I don't see HLG's branding stamped on the boards in the picture, and the diodes are in an unbroken line from one end of the board to the other, like a QB304. I don't have a problem with another vendor selling PCBs, but if Timber is using non-HLG LM561C boards (that are designed to look like QBs), they certainly shouldn't call them QBs. That's HLG's brand-name. Also noteworthy is the fact that they're S5 bin, which further persuades me that these aren't actually QBs.

Hi @Humple

These are in fact QB288 boards from HLG (@robincnn) and they do have the HLG branding on them - we removed it from the product photos.

Any questions let me know.

Thanks,
Dan

Wanted to thank you for the Veteran’s Discount, by the way. Really loving the 2VL. Are you using the 90 CRI or 80 CRI? I really like the passive cooling. No fan noise! If I were to buy a Citi kit, could you give me or sell me at a reduced rate, the pieces to attach them to the frame of the 2VL?

As of now I am running 1 1k in my 4x8 tent (half for flower other half work space since I dropped a patient and only can have 12 plants) I'm trying to max my yields with what I have. However my tent gets hot and have been looking into a portable a.c. to put in there. However would it be a better option to spend 500 on building a led light to replace my 1k hps or should I keep my current light and buy the a.c. unit?
Buying an AC unit just increases your electricity cost. It will never really pay for itself. OTOH, a good quality LED fixture will use about 30% less power, essentially paying for itself over time while lowering your heat issues.

You can DIY a 600W LED strip fixture using Samsung F-strips or Bridgelux EB strips for under $400.... That will just about replace the 1kW HPS.
