Might want to build a different set up

Connecting waterfarms can be done but next to impossible to equalize the buckets right

For stone weight stainless steel washers work ok

Mine equalizes great, I just use a small recirculation pump and it's nothing.

But like I said, my new 1 plant system has all the bells and whistles. If you wanna control reservoir temps a chiller is the way to go

out of curiousity, why the extended res if you have a chiller?

I'm not sure I get what your asking. The only reason I extended the rez was so i could go more days in a row without topping off. I work on the road
gotcha, any advice for me, im going to attempt something similar, only concern i have is equalization of the water.

@Cold$moke is right with connecting multiple buckets. The more buckets you add the harder it is to get them to equalize without valving off each individual bucket to control the flow. Then you are getting into a whole new tedious ballpark.

Can you tell me why this is a concern? I had a small problem at first with a small amount of equalization between the buckets but here's why......

I had air stones in the grow bucket and the reservoir bucket. The reservoir bucket lid snapped on air tight keeping the air in the bucket and forcing a higher volume of water over to the grow bucket. I just started setting the lid on top instead of snapping it on so the extra air could escape and it fixed the problem

i was thinking for one plant it wouldnt be such a big deal, im running one with a DWC and i know a future problem is res changes. because i will have the plant scrogd.

Yes I'm not ever doing any sea of green setups so I guess I've never encountered that problem. I normally just grow a couple really large plants

Its not equalization of water that concerns me gravity will do that. And the fact water self levels.

Its the inconsistencies in ph ec ect from one water farm to the next. Thats why peeps built rdwc systems was to get even flow of nutrients and oxygen

While maintaining it through the whole system.

Not saying it doesnt work but there are better ways i think .

just an oppinon though
Like an asshole everyones got one ha ha.

Cheers

Now if you want one waterfarm with a "control" bucket to make res changes easier and up the volume go for it.

But connect more than a few toghether is not the best. If that where the case undercurrent would not exist

Just look at where all the big dogs go.
Flood and drain, rdwc,organics coco
There are reasons for this

Again not trying to be argumentative
Just sayin cause ive been there a loooooong time ago in a basement faar faar awaay

yea im trying the rdwc right now, but still feel like my res could be larger... im stuck deciding between 10 inch buckets and 6 inch... with the 6 inch buckets i cant put the drip ring, but i can hold more water..
