Durban Poison?

wow nice job that bud looks dank as a mfer!! i brought their fisien dew it also has low thc but to be honest the ones that always claim 20% or higher is under the perfect conditions..it dont take but a very small % of thc to fuck u up anyways..i honestly beleive those numbers where they claim 25% like barneys does on some strains is just that numbers and a sales pitch..only true way to ever know is grow them out and test them in a lab and see what the comparison is..
Thanks man, I've been wanting to try their frisian dew outdoors, next year maybe. And I actually just grew a barneys strain, red dragon, that claimed 28% THC. Its good weed, but there is no way that it is much stronger than the durban, both grown in identical conditions. So I would agree with you that thc% is all marketing. Ah well

Well, I grew her out, and here she is at week 6.5-7. She grew strong, very open sativa structure. Her buds have leaves, but she doesn't seem any leafier than other sativa-dom strains I've grown. Buds started looking mature at week 4-5, but put on a bit more weight after that. Looks like an average yielder at best. The smell of it growing and quick dried is faint, fresh and fruity, similar to royal haze but not as strong. The trichs are small, they are there, but it doesn't look frosty.
The high however, is not disappointing, not from the quick-dried, early cut stuff anyways. Really smacks you in the face at first. I was worried about the low thc%, and one of the reasons why I wanted to grow this strain is to see if claimed thc% actually means anything, and so far I would say that it really doesn't. This weed seems just as potent as strains I've grown which claim over %20. I will need to smoke quite a bit more after being properly cured to make any final judgments though
Thanks for this post bro ! I'm ordering sensi seeds' Durban to give her a try. Anyone ever tried their Durban Poison? I've heard only good reviews on it so far and Sensi is an old reputable company. So, I figured I'll give her a run.

I ran marijuana-seeds.nl durban my first grow's and I loved it. It was a nice yielder and very good stone. I also ran Dutch Passions version and I wasnt impressed. Yield was so so, tasted good, but stone was mediocre at best. I stopped running DP after that...

I'm doing Dutch Passion - Durban Poison outdoors right now. I had some issues with it (my fault I believe) and it became root-bound and dwarfed and started flowering much earlier than expected. It's about 3-4weeks into flower now and has no significant aroma/odor or crystal production yet. It's about 45cm tall and 30cm wide. It's a very easy to grow strain.. She starts off a little darker green and with Indica type leaves and tight nodes before looking a little sativa towards the end of it's life cycle. I've added a pic for the fiends :)

I am growing 2 Versions of Malawi Gold, African Buzz from Seedsman and Malawi from Ace (Plus South African Kwazulu and Early Durban). Then I am going to mix them with Banana Crack and White Strawberry Skunk and Blue Mystic and Gril Scout Cookies and other color and flavor and smell buds. Then I am going to cross those with Hazes (Hopefully Cantelope Haze) and Kushes and Green Crack and Trainwreck and White Widow Strains (I have White Rhino), etc.

Here is the thread:

Man i would stay away from dp. Worst pack of seeds I've ever had came from them. Blueberry. Two females two herms and a mutant in a five pack of fems. Maybe one day I'll give them a second shot but until then they are my number one company to stay away from.

I live in a medical state and the durban Poison coming from the dispensary is FUCKING AMAZING!! The smell is like nothing I've smelled.. The concentrates smell even stronger and I've had people over that know their shit and i have them smell it and they just say wow wtf is that.
The stone isn't lacking at all either.

Grew some dutch passion durban poison about 10 years ago, I can confirm...lackluster high. One of those highs where you're looking for the high..."I'm I high...yeah I guess a little". It did smell and taste unique.

I just picked up some Hazeman Durban F2's. Hope they turn out as nice as the durban i bought in colorado last month.

Will be running them in 2018.

I liked my Dutch Passion durban poison. The seeds and plants all looked the same. Performed well and had a talkative up high. Mine had dark green leaves with a indica structure. Durban Poison should smell a little like cat piss that's when you know you got the real deal. Their Purple #1 had a wonderful mellow high that i loved with black calyxes. Voodoo was a Thai they developed that was fire too.

I know a guy in Durban who can get real durban poison, used to mail me packages. But not the kind of guy I'd owe favours to.

Was involved in a substantial grow of Durban poison back in 1999. Thousands of plants in multiple sites, Northern Ontario. Outdoor. They did Incredible other then the moose loved them lol
Very purple, almost black licorish (sorry for spelling ) smell. hash mild taste.
Was a sativa that grew like an indica.
Wasn't strong enough for me, have since found much better. But I bet a great base breeding stock.
Not sure if it is the same as what is now being called Durban poison.
Cheers :)

licorice is typical of South African strains. It hits you when you open some bags.
Some of it is so-so, but when you hit the right pheno it is downright scary.
All were sowed in ground from seed.4 field with the smallest having 1200+ at harvest. And each and ever female that was harvested that year was the same purple outer, bright green inner, crazy licorice smelling. Coated in crystals. In some cases and extra close trim job was done and it was sold top dollar to americans for 5k a pound. Back when the canadian dollar was worth in the low 50 cents per american.
Fun times lol
Cheers :)

Did you flower the mutant or naw? I had a 10 pack of dutch passion's blueberry in 2002 and the mutant ended up being one of the best buds I've ever grown or tasted since. It was all purple stem and dark leaves, the bud was light green with purple, blue and red calyxes. Tasted like smuckers grape jelly and was super potent and frosty.

All four females where extremely nice but the mutant was something special. This was when they first acquired DJ short's genetics. I've since chased the dragon trying to find any phenos as good as any of those first 4 but no luck. Between me and friends we have popped 20-30 more of dutch passion Blueberry over the years and its been all hermies and crappy weed.

Pure Strain
Product code: BB
Type/subspecies*: Mostly indica
Flowering period**: 8-9 weeks indoor
Potency: Very Strong
Growth Pattern: Medium height, one main bud with some low branching. Feed conservatively.
Breeders comment: Flavourful and colourful, classic favourite.
Challenging, not for beginners. Can be very sensitive to over-fertilization. Occasional mutations at seedling stage. They may need assistance cracking open.

I plan on running peakseedsbcs blueberry in the near future.
Cheers :)
