I have a few patches in the bush. Most pretty early in flower. We got down to 24F this morning. I checked on one patch today, and they looked alright. But I have almost a week of it forecast. I did cover the young ones with a shower door. I'm sure they will be alright.

It was cold this morning. 24F just before daylight. But I had a light on the pump, and had turned off and drained all the waterlines I could. And had the rest of the outdoor spigots dripping. Didn't have any problem. If tonight goes good too, I will try a night at the camp.

At 1755 it's clear, 36F with 37% humidity. Forecast high/low of 41/28F with 20% chance of rain tonight. Some clouds due to roll in later tonight, so not as cold as last night. I hope. 10 day high/low of 69/23F with a chance of rain next Monday. Five more nights in the 20's.

I saw a 'departure from normal temperatures' map the other day; the eastern US is by far the coldest relative to normal anywhere on the planet!

It feels cold here because we finally got historically normal temperatures lol

Gonna warm up a bit here though, highs in the upper 40s and 50s for the next 10 days. And rain. In Colorado... in January.

We've had a cool week here in Larry Land. Lows in the mid 20's with highs in the 40's most of the week, but easing into the 50's today. I had planned on hiking a couple three days during this cold snap. Forgot about the 2K longleaf pine tree seedlings I had bought. So I've spent all my time since Wednesday afternoon with a dibble in my hand.

Warmer today. At 2105 it's partly cloudy, 48F with 56% humidity. Forecast high/low of 56/43F with 20% chance of rain tonight. 10 day high/low of 74/28F with three half days of rain in there. When I get all my trees planted, I'll check on my patches. I may be out of the spring crop business and just not know it yet.

I left out a small parking area for the graveyard, and planted everything else down to the garden. 4 or 5 acres. When it gets closer to time to sell the straw, I will have to take out the oak trees. But I'll wait on that for now.

Edit: zoom in to check out the dead deer. {just above the blue bucket}
