read everything you can find, look at the pictures, print out the ones you find helpful so you can look at them closer.

Hi, Wood ...

The idea in SOG is to grow a LOT of little, single cola plants in one area. By a lot, I mean four per square feet of growing space. To do this, you'll need to grow a strain that makes sense. It will have to be very Indica-like. Short and bushy. The flowering cycle should be started when the plant is very small, like under six inches. Then, you'll have to prune the plant into that one cola shape. The end goal is to end up with tons of single cola plants that produce between 1/4 and 1/2 ounce each.

The bad part is, with the huge plant numbers, your security is compromised. Remember ... the feds get real snotty when the plant numbers exceed 100. Its real hard to convince anyone that with those kinds of plant numbers that your grow is for personal use as well.

For the record, one of the most successful SOG growers I've ever seen uses Legend's "Ultimate Indica" in his SOG grow. The guy is amazing.

Please correct me if I am wrong, but I believe the 4 per sq/ft is for hydro, in soil I believe its more like 1 per sq/ft.
Again, feel free to correct me as this is something I have been investigating lately, and I am no expert at it.
Thanks!

The one plant per square foot rule is for regular bush growing in small spaces. If you use square pots that are small enough, you can still get the four per square foot SOG grow going. Remember, in SOG you want to end up with lots of 12-18 inch single cola plants with no side branching. The person I mentioned in the above post uses round cylinders to grow in ... and it works perfectly. They are in trays on shelves ... one on top of the other with room for lights inbetween. He grows hundreds of plants per cycle. Zowie!

Hey dude, again....correct me if I am wrong, but as I unserstand it, prior to going into flowering, you trim all the side branches, than switch to flowering.
I was told one per sq/ft if growing in soil, but at 4 per, it sounds like something I may want to try.

4 plants per square foot for vegging--no pruning nothing at all--this will prolong harvest if you prune--koz u r flowering so soon with this technique there wont be enough time for the plant to develop side branching--nothing significant anyways.
flowering- 1 plant per square foot- no pruning still. you should pick a strong mummy plant-take cuttings and the minute theyve rooted, veg them for a week or 2 then flower the bastards.Remember no pruning no nothing just let them grow.

^^^ thats how I would do it.
Newbie here, Just finished my first attempt at a soil grow. I used single pots for a few plants for a small garden, just trying to do some skill building. ALL WERE MALE:( So, regrouping I was going to build 3 self watering rubbermaid planters and run the flowering and vegging cycles in a 30d veg:60d bud. I would start one every month and rotate so that in 90 days I could start having a monthly harvest (give or take a wk or 2 in budding) using the SoG method.

So with all that said, my question would be how to figure the plant to sq. foot ratio with multiple plants in a single container that would allow me to use the same planting locations, and planter itself, for both veg and bud modes?

PLEASE HELP!!!!!THNX:)

get a 4x8 homemade bed
fill with 7in of soilless mix
throw in 160 clones
lollipop
2 1000w lights
veg 7 days

hope for 1/2 oz a plant

5lbs for 2 lights
