Hello,

Im in the 3rd week of flower with bluedream grow. Noob question for you. Right now im watering 3 times a week. Do i include phosphorus on every watering or should i add every other? Im growing in soil obviously.

Thanks for the help!

You should be applying more K than P at this point of flower. A ratio like 1:2:3 GMB and you could leave out the extra N in the Grow. That's the way I use it with 3-part nutes. Extra S will help with resin production as well. It's the "secret" ingredient in most bloom boosters. I uae Big Bus and it's 0-15-35 with 10%S, 20 amino acids and a couple more things like ascorbic acid, (Vit. C), and citric acid. Can grind up a couple Vit C tabs too.

No shit..that is really interesting. I have bigbud and have been using it. Just noticing that some lower leaves showing possible phosphorous deficiency (brown splotches on leaves).

Really appreciate the help. Are you using bigbud on every watering? Again thank you.

I most always water, feed, water, feed tho I may add something to the waterig one if I feel my plants nedd something. Maybe some extra BB or epsom salts etc.

Are those leaves maybe crispy where they are going brown and are you seeing any burning along the margins of any of the leaves?

Are you letting the pots dry out really well before adding more water? If not you should. Judge when they need water by hoisting the pots and when they feel scary light but the plants aren't drooping yet it's time to water. Doesn't hurt to let one get to the droop so you really get the feel for a bone-dry pot. May lose a few leaves but really won't hurt the plant.

A few pics would be nice. Make sure one or two are the whole plant and not just all pics of sick leaves.

You say extra "s" can add to the resin production,, when you say "s" do you mean silica?

As @Antisocial Extrovert said S is for sulfur. Si is silica which is also helpful with resin production and something I use in small doses once the plants are a bit bigger than seedlings. I use AN's Rhino Skin for that. Epsom Salts, magnesium sulphate, can supply S when no other source is available. Also supplies magnesium, Mg.

This is my first grow and im in the 3rd week of flower. I have heard so many opinions of what to use during bloom phase. I know that with your extensive knowledge you probably create your own mixes like i do withworkout supplements (been working out for 30 years) but could you please give me a direction to go. Im growing in good soil and using distilled water. Any help is much appreciated!

Score some Big Bud. 20 amino acids, ascorbic and citric acids and a 0-15-35 NPK profile with 10% sulfur. All you need over base nutes to get really nice colas. Use until about week 5 or 6 for an 8 week strain. Can get a little can of the powder to try it out and that's enough for 10 - 20 plants depending on pot and plant size. 100 plants in a SoG grow. I bought the 500g can for $80. Lots-O-Bud from that. :)

I just use what's in the bottles with a little CalMag once in a while then will grind up some zinc and a few other things to toss in for good luck. Not sure if it makes a difference but I like to think it does. UV light will make a big difference to resin output so I'm getting a couple of those.

If you are using distilled you should use a bit of CalMag with it but just 1/4 to 1/2 of full strength is plenty with decent soil that likely has dolomitic lime in there already for pH balance.

I'd give the BB a go. I hate to grow without it and have used it since it was invented.

Thank you so much. That really helps. On my next grow i will mix in some dolomite. Luckily the one thing i did buy was BigBud. Again, thank you so much !

Just wanted to post a pic of my (first) grow. I appreciate all the help from people like you with tons of experience. I will pass on some things i have learned and or modified.
I learned that the reason why everyone uses oscillating fans is that the plants need some quiet time to uptake Co2 from under their leaves.. This gave me an idea. I have all my fans on a timer. 10min on/ 10 min off all day long. Feel like the plants really started progressing quicker since this mod.

Looked up some studies with musics effects on plants and found one that showed that pants grew fasted under indian classic music. The plants actually grow towards this music that i play on a constant loop.

Lastly, i have been watering the girls with distilled water only. Haven't needed to mod PH for the soil grow. I know that this cannot be cost effective for a very large grow, but for 2 plants its been easy. I got a water distiller on amazon.

The marijuana growing community as a whole has been so cool to help others like me, so i just wanted to pass on what has worked for me.

Now i am heading into the final 3-5 weeks of flower. Will be purchasing a loop to monitor trichrome's when i get near harvest.

I just have an oscillating fan going continuously. Believe me that plants don't need a calm time to absorb CO2. Do you suffocate on a windy day? I know we have lungs to draw air in and out and plants don't but with calm air how does the plant draw in anything? Movin air will work better and doesn't have to move that much so a windy room is not needed. Just enough to flutter the leaves a bit.

I'm selling my Polar Bear distiller to get a decent RO unit as I'm expanding my grow to use 4 RubberMaid tubs in a flowering room while vegging others to replace finished ones. Each will be independent of the other and have a 4' x 20" ScroG screen attached with two plants per tub. A 1000W Super HPS will ride a Light Rail to cover the 8x4' space they will flower in. Hopefully with a UV light source attached to each side of the open wing reflector to boost resin production. Very eager to get this going but the wife used up all my lumber for her damn chicken coop and I have to find $150 or so to replace it. Have everything else I need to get it going other than a decent wall-mounted oscillating fan. Another $50 for a good one.

I just can't dig Indian music at all. ♫ ♪♪♫ Just give me some Rock and Roll. ♫ The kind of music that stirs my soul. ♫♪♫ I reminisce about the days of old. Give me some old-fashioned Rock and Roll! ♫♪♫ I probably mangled the lyrics. :)

but on the flip side plants don't have wind constantly blowing on them 24/7 in the wild either....just reporting what i have found and i like the 10/10 cycles. In terms of music, yea i grew up in the 80's on Priest, Accept, and even some fringe Japanese heavy metal, but im sure as hell not playing that for my plants. They love the Indian classical.

Well, finally got a ph meter at it seems that my PH after adding nutes is 5.8.. far too low for phosphorous uptake. Im sure my soil was balancing things out a bit since im at week 3 of flower and things look really good. Thank you to everyone who helped on this thread and thank you for pushing me to get a PH meter. I know it sounds dumb now, but I really thought since i was using distilled water i would be ok since distilled should be 7 ph...

Distilled or pure RO water has no pH of it's own. People just don't seem to understand that. It's the minerals in water that give it pH and they have no minerals thus no pH. Always mix in all your nutes etc then check pH and adjust as needed. Unless you are using a cheap silica supplement which should always be added first. The pH can go up to 10 so should be brought back down around 7, then add nutes and check.

I use the Rhino Skin silica supplement from AN and it works with the pH Perfect nutes so don't need to make any adjustments or bother checking the pH. I'm an achy, tired, poor and lazy old fart so the easier it is to do the better. Cheap too if you don't toss out good nutes every week like they want you to so you have to buy more, more often.

One more noob question for the master. I have some big fan leaves that are covering buds. Better to leave fan leaves on or do you remove? Thanks again, really appreciate the help!
