No worm farm yet as I'm still on the fence if i want to build my own or buy the WF 360. Hoping to find a great deal first.

I'm going to really and try and experiment with mixes outdoor next year. I have a bunch of non growing friends who are getting 4 plants in their back yard next year.
Now it's deciding what strains goes outside
Between my friends and I we now have
Alaska
TGA Jack Cleaner 2
Dutch Passion Power Plant
Cunuk Seeds GG#4
Cunuk SeedsBlue berry
Barneys Triple Cheese
White Widow

and some random clone we fell into that we now call "George"

All these are Alaska I'm keeping the purple one and not sure of the others.

George is my most popular phenos name how did you get a guys name for that girl i ask lol...

Awesome though... Gotta love experiments. I would prob sell some flowers, get some next level proven genetics in your circle's mix too, to go with your upper level keepers.. Toss anything not exotic and fierce

and as for the worms .. stop debating! you can build open face cubes one foot square (imagine a shoe closet laid down flat on the floor but for worms) or 5 gallon buckets to house your worms and their bedding slash food. For the price of a 360 you can be making 20x the fresh castings that are 100x better, affording you to cut out the bene acids.. and you might even be able to make your own bio char at the same time, all on the same budget.

& In case this helps.. We also be looking for good solid Canadian greenthumbs to barter with for high grade low ash biochar, vegetarian fed black soldier fly frass and, fresh castings, for use in our hand crafted artisan living soils.

Jump on board the team my man, we could use an herbalist Ontarioan!

How did we come up with George lol because the guy who gave it too us is named George 8-)

Well my bin will be indoors but I think I will just use a couple Rubbermaid 68L rough neck tote as I have a few from making bubble/sprayer cloner
I already have found a couple of suppliers of Red Wigglers on Kijiji.
It's just getting rid of my Fungus Gnats first. I inoculated all my house plants with nematodes, the other ones and my composting indoor soil.

Well I built my worm bin this morning out of two 18 gal bins
The top
20171202_125846.jpg
Were the worms will live.
20171202_125748.jpg
Were the worm tea will settle Going to add a spout later.

I'll be adding the bedding today and pick up my worms Monday night to give my bin time to settle.
I think I can stack another bin or two to the top once it starts working.
and now for some bud porn

Hey Don
I have an old bottle of chelated iron 30 years plus from my aquarium days. I used to breed fish and plants in my early teens.
I know it made my aquatic plans explode, would it have any use in Cannabis production?

Hey CCG

You know me, I wouldn't use it myself, but since you have it and experience using it, why not try a little side by side.

Fe apparently plays a role in aiding photosynthesis as well as in enzyme production processes / possible CBD production.
You wont have any Fe issues if using my recipe, that much I can say, I like to use plenty of kelp as well as an iron rich glacial sand, another fine GRD with Fe traces, greensand, and to top it off, iron-rich greens in the worm farm. And with myco fungi present, I have never seen it deficient.

"it should also be noted that chelates can enter in competition with other ions of other elements such as Calcium and Magnesium, which cause Iron ions to displace."

Here's a quick link for you too..

Congrats on the DIY farm, you just saved $100!

Saponins will cause the foam. When running a simple n organic all natural tea, normally foam shows up with the presence of protein.. As in worm bodies. Just keep it simple and you won't have the headaches.
