I haven't used a grinder in years. I just break it up in by hand. Are you trying to blend 2 diff strains? A grinder might be your best choice then. Look online, there's a lot of grinders out there. Some can get a bit pricy too, imo.

omg a coffee grinder??? no, been there done that, and I learn from my mistakes.

after using a blade type coffee grinder you WILL notice alot of kief coating the entire inside of the grinder. that kief use to be in the bud.

What I have learned is the less we handle the nugs = the more we get out of the nug.

using your fingers to break apart a bud to vape or smoke also looses alot of kief to your now sticky fingers.

My first grinder was a wooden one a basic 2 piece with alot of metal pins in it. needed cleaning ALOT

Then I got my last grinder a Spacecase medium 4 piece b4 they had magnets. I got that in the late 90's and is nearly 20 years old
this is my go to grinder anytime i am looking to vape or smoke some bud, It gets ground up In my old spacecase 4 piece.
I have recieved various freebie grinders and was not impressed with any of them. my Spacecase still grinds very well. when it gets difficult to turn cleaning is simple.
get some rubbing alcohol and soak the top lid and top grind area for a few min and while soaking grab an old toothbrush and clean the grinders teeth, side wall inside and out and do not loose the nylon ring, ya loose that get a new grinder, after ya remove the gunk on the parts rinse off in hott water and let dry b4 use. I got a small mason jar I use for the rubbing alcohol so i am not buying rubbing alcohol every other week.

I've used metal and wooden 2 piece grinders, had a 2" 4 piece Kannistor for the past 7 years but new I wanted a new one (bigger one) for years. Finally broke down and got the medium space case, huge difference, like going from a chevy to a mercedes. Makes way more kief too.

For around the same money Santa cruz Shreder is another good choice, better if you vape (from what Ive read) I know folks using the SCS its good.

the best ive EVER used is a brand called Elwood Brooks EB Grinder. google it.

its the last grinder ill ever purchase and ive been rocking the same one for 6 years now and have probably grinded about 10 pounds of pot in that time. the teeth are a little dull but not overly, still grinds perfectly.

Happy with my santa cruse shredder.
It’s really worth getting a nice grinder as they last a lot longer without too many issues.

A friend of ours shops a lot at Wish.com and used some of her bonus points to buy this "spice" grinder. Thought the wife could use it to shred the leaf tobacco we have.

Saw the wife struggling away trying it out and took a look. Too flimsy to handle thin leaves much less bits of center stem. We use a pasta maker to shred it and that works great. Wife wants a motor on it and her grain grinder for the chicken feed too.

Anyway, I took a look at it and near bust a gut laughing. Ain't a spice grinder either it's a g'damned bud grinder and it works great! Has a two level drawer under the grinder wheels with the top one being deeper with a kief screen on the bottom. LOL They sell them for $14 at the site. Need to crumble bud up a bit to get it to work well but work well it does. I never roll joints but got out the RAW papers and twisted one up with a filter and all. Ground up some Blue Heaven and some CBD dried up little bud I got off the plants downstairs after they re-vegged. Lots more of the CBD duff than the BH. Four good hits and I'm nicely buzzed and feel really loose. Beans on toast for my dinner tonight.

It's mine now!

I used to have a magnetic kief collecting grinder but loaned it to a friend and never got it back. Nothing special about it and was about $15 but I liked the raised pot leaf on the lid. I cleaned it real good and used it to press this 29g ball of my Honey Hash into to give it some style. :)

I own one of each.
my best is a santa cruz shredder and for the money my Platinum Grinder has out lasted most of the others with good performance.
the santa cruz has the least down time for cleaning.

secretly though, my thumb and forefinger grinds my spongy buds perfectly and rolled loose is my funnest joints.
