Coco ph

So i checked the runoff ph of my coco and im finding its going in at 6.0-6.3 and coming out 5.2-5.5, so i have been flushing but it has not changed much.

When i first checked the runoff my ppm going in was 750 and coming out 1000 so i figured flush.

What do you guys think? Am i on the right path with the flush?

The plants seem very healthy and im not 100% sure my runoff ph of 5.2-5.5 is really that bad.

This is my first coco run.

i've grown in coco for almost 3 years now, and never once checked my run off ph.
put it in at 6.1, and let it do what it wants.
i think the manufacturer of your coco pre-charged it so you don't have to use a shit load of cal-mag on it.
if they seem really healthy, why are you trying to fix it? it aint broke.

Well im in coco because of the same kind of issue i was having in promix, the main difference is that when the promix ph dropped that low i saw major lockout.

Thats why im trying to fix what might not be broke.

coco is a whole different animal than peat. they call it hydro but its a hybrid, and you have to treat it as such.
i've found that 6.1 covers pretty much everything, i hardly ever have any kind of deficiencies.
i was watering earlier and haven't dumped the run off yet, so i checked it just to see. its at 5.6.
my plants are perfectly healthy and happy, so i guess thats about normal.

Is there a big difference between ec, and ppm? My ppm is staying around 50 to 100 ppm less than i put in. So i have been feeding around 500-600ppm and run off reads 400 to 500 ppm

It’s the same thing (e.c. and ppm)just a different scale..feed them harder if your ppm is lower in the runoff.

Im also in coco and have fought my ph
Similarly. Mine has dropped from 7.5 (tap) down to around 5.0 even lower. I have lost sleep at night and only thing i can think of is root rot. I have battled fungus gnats and figure they are causing some rot issues or my tap is suspect. Definitely a headache Good luck.

Why are you giving 7.5 to a plant??? That's out of range even for soil.

that is the ph of my tap pal...dont know where your from but when your ph is dropping to 4.0 i dont think adding more down is gping to help anything. Rem the op is having a coco ph issue ?!? But thanks for chiming in captain obvious.

Jdog do you grow in coco ? A plant can look just fine and still have issues affecting yeild and quality right ? So ur saying 7.5 (tap) is bad but 5.0 and lower is ok ?

I am new to coco but not growing and i do think a runoff ph of what i was seeing was an indication of a problem. now, a few days later im seeing slight yellowing in between leaf vains that have always told me that i had cal/mag lockout.

Thats all my opinion based on a my grow experience.

So today i gave a 1/2strength feed With way more runoff and my ph is staying around 5.7-5.8.
