"legalization" would be great..what they and everyone else seems to be offering is "closely regulated, monitored, and taxed weed, that is controlled as far as price, but not as far as quality or purity"
if they let you grow your own, using the methods and products you want, then thats great, if they make you go to their dispensaries where you have no idea what you're smoking or otherwise ingesting, where you have to trust people to not use things like paclobutrazol, to not use toxic pesticides, to have a clue about how to do anything besides make money....then that ain't so good

Ya, I only have example of other recreational states to go by and I'm personally not impressed. Seems like "legalization" and Gov't overstepping boundaries go hand in hand.

i make sure i don't use anything but spinosad on a plant that has started to flower.
the only thing i use to "boost growth" is triacontonal, which is natural and comes from alfalfa.
i KNOW whats in my weed, and its nothing thats going to hurt you.....i have absolutely NO faith in the governments ability to make the same claim

If I need to administer any poison to a plant in flower, it is done for that plant.
There are some things I am not willing to do.

i've read so many stupid rule and contradictory regulations, obviously written by people who have no idea what they were talking about. i'm not sure where this was, but i could find it, it was on here somewhere, one of the states that recently legalized for medical, allowed people to keep what they could grow from 12 plants at a time...up to 2 oz........wtf? i get 7, 8, 10 oz off a plant.....who the fuck wrote this rule, and where were they getting their information?

Thats currently about where we are at here in MI with medical marijuana laws. You can grow 12 plants total and have up to 2.5 ounces of usable meds. CG's can have 5 patients plus themselves at 72 plants total/15oz usable meds. Not sure where the law is on extracts though?

pros :
80-90% less arrests for bullshit 1 joint or 1 roach. less convictions, and less fucking raids into peoples private homes. plus now that juries know its "legal" they vote not guilty more.

cons:
the plant isnt legal like tomatoes, or even alcohol possession limits. so some dumb fucks still get in trouble.
you can tell who the dumb fucks are , they are the ones arguing against legalization right here in the forums.

luckily most of the dumb fucks are too up their own ass to register to vote. but wow are they loud on the internet.

re: pesticides, i am pretty sure washington, oregon and colorado all have pesticide monitoring and lab testing.

in california they have entire med mj grows that are clean green certified, no pesticides, fungicides etc, just Diatomacceous earth and lady bugs.

you want clean grows, illegal or legal you are going to have to do your homework. the legality of marijuana does not change the pesticide issue at all. plenty of bad growers now using all the banned shit.

hell, stores still sell banned pesticides! its a problem in all states, illegal, medical and legal. bringing that up in a legalization thread seems like you have an agenda.

now a real issue with legalization? nanogram limits, blood testing and DUID laws like stupid washington state. not that it changes anything here in michigan, as its 0 ng right now for illegal mj. only medical has protections...

how do they figure these numbers? how do you need 12 plants to maintain 2.5 oz? everytime you harvest you're going to have too much. are you supposed to throw it out? grow shetland plants?
michigan also has a definition of "usable" marijuana 2.5 oz.
usable? it means dried marijuana.

so if you have pounds of wet marijuana, its allowed. this has been tested in court i think its people v randall.

However, with respect to the seized plant material from the building, Nitz consistently
testified that the marijuana was “green,” “wet,” “drying,” or in the “drying states.” He testified
that, from his understanding, “usable marijuana could be also completely wet marijuana.” While
wet marijuana may, indeed, be “usable” in some circumstances, it is not “usable” for purposes of
the MMMA. In order to be usable under the MMMA, the marijuana must be dried. MCL

Webster’s College Dictionary (1997). A past participle is a “nonfinite verb form ending usu. in –
ed” which “may also function adjectivally.” Garner, Garner’s Modern American Usage (3rd ed)
(New York: Oxford University Press, 2009), p 909. As a past participle, it has a perfective
aspect, which is a “verb aspect that expresses action as complete.” Id. at 883, 909. Likewise, the
past tense signals “an action or even a state that occurred at some previous time.” Id. at 920.
Additionally, the past-perfect tense denotes “an act, state, or condition [that] was completed
before another specified past time or past action.” Id. Therefore, the term “dried” clearly
indicates a completed condition.

obviously, police have trouble with words like dried , so the court had to write that bullshit english 101 lesson.

as for how mpp got the number to put 2.5 ounces on the ballot, well i suppose it was polled and thats a limit that was able to pass a vote of the people.

It's 2.5 oz of usable marijuana so we date our curing jars and hope for the best.

We used to "donate" our overage to the dispensaries but they were illegal of course and now that they will be legal we are no longer allowed to donate to them.

So I harvest a plant every week or two and put the weed on a drying/ curing my schedule and like I said hope for the best.

If we do our job well flowers don't stick around for long anyway.

Unfortunately a precedent was ruled on where a concentrate company had dehydrated 3 day old harvested buds and when raided it was all judged usable.

So now a judge can reference the 3 day usable precedent.

you can always convert flower into oil too. that usually reduces a lot of weight.

They have weight conversions for each form of concentrate. Oil, butter, baked edibles etc.

A conversion ounce still takes up one of the 2.5 oz usable we are allowed.

So they finally gave us our medicine but took away half our flower count.

Fuck "legal" weed. It is not the same as not prohibited.

Funny you mention this....
Im not sure if you are in MI, but we now have saliva swab tests the officers are using in select counties to test for impaired driving.

Right! Don't try to leave your house once rec is legal. They can't bust you for a dime bag anymore so to keep the courts in business they will bust for every other possible infraction.

They are just getting started with their "creative" laws.

How about MI takes some of that money for all the officers mouth swab testing supplies and roadside testing machines etc and put that toward some of the 10,000+ rape test kits that are sitting in Detroits police station waiting to be completed for the last 12+ months.
