It's a newly built home. Everything is meant to function off of electric. The pellet stove, propane boiler, etc. If my generator was hooked up it would be fine but now we're are dead in the water. Eventually I'll swap the pellet stove for a wood stove which won't be easy from what I've been reading.
get ya pellets now come jan-feb wont be able to find them,u will find any thing to do with heating get her done in off season price doubles come winter lets hope for a mild winter! last couple yrs we got hammered, put a woodstove in basement if u can keep the house from freezing up, with a little work wood is free here, lots of folk get wood on side of rd after storms like this one

whys that, cap? metal asbestos chimney run up the side of your house for your woodstove.
edit maybe your stove location is not on an exterior wall?
apparently the chimney for a pellet stove has different regulations. i would essentially have to rip out the pellet stove chimney and put in a proper wood stove chimney.

hrm didnt think about putting one in the basement.... that may be a better idea just to keep the house from freezing up if we lose power and lose the generator...

how many flues u got in that chimney, most have 2 if so very easy to hook up wood burner one for boiler one for wood stove it would really help offset cost of gas, when u start filling that tank once a month just the boiler be 2-3 hundred gals a month at least,if u make hot water with boiler be running all summer,

Boiler flue doesn't look like it could take a wood stove. It's plastic and our boiler is a rinnai high efficiency. The pellet stove I hear isn't insulated enough or up to code for a wood stove. I'd have to add a new chimney for a wood stove wherever we put it I think.

Your right about the wood being bigger and insulated. I switched out the wood for pellet lol, I'm done cutting wood :(. Loves my pellet stove and it's cheaper than propane here per btu. It only draws 3 amps total I think so easy to power up with a battery and inverter if needed but ya not for a week. What the hell happened down there, wind?

pellet stoves are 4" i believe.you could go with 6" metal asbestos and they make all kinds of adapters and pieces to do remodel jobs.a bit pricey but anything is possible.
yeah,wind @Budley Doright .
i didnt lose power but i went out and bought a 16kw standby generac:hump:
prolly wont lose power for years now lolz

And ya thump not a whole lot of heating equipment is flue vented any more ;). All high efficiency here by law ... direct vent.
different world down here, most homes built around here have 2-3 flues dumb not to,only the yuppie tree huggers go eltc or gas I made a living on lpg I hate it on central heat

My humidity down in the basement tent is killing me. Gonna have to add a humidity source in there on a controller. Top sensor is in my living room. Bottom sensor is in the tent. It's hoverin around 35-39 rh. I'm sure it's just suckling the moisture out of my new gg4 cuts.

Ceiling, vents, ducting then foam air sealing takes place next weekend. Then blow in insulation, paint and I then I start the meat and potatoes of the hydroponic setup. i think I will go with Kilz oil based primer for the interior paint. im thinking about painting the floor to seal it up and allow for easy bleach down when its clean up time.

Moisture content of the air is probably close given the temp difference.

We've got a 500 gallon buried the whole house right now once I get a few Cycles under my belt and payoff some of this grow costs I will be sticking a 1000 gallon above-ground dedicated to the generator
HOw much is it to fill a 500 or a 1000 propane tank? Seems like that would be expensive.

Up here it would be around $2500 to fill a 1000 gallon sub :o! We're at .60-70 a litre plus tax :(.
Edit: two years ago we were double that as there seemed to be a shortage of propane for the 4-5 months of winter. Customers if not completely out were only getting half fills.

60% of the girls are gg4 rooted clones straight out of the cloner. the rest are varying strains out of 1 gal coco pots. I will water once a day for a week or two to get the roots built up before i start watering multiple times a day.

im paying 2 bucks a gallon right now for propane. right now we are spending 200-300 every 3-4 months on propane ( to keep our boiler and range going). we have yet to lose power so the generator hasnt eaten a tank yet.

If i had a 1000 gal i could probably get it filled at 1.90 a gallon. they only fill to 80% so 800 gallons would be about 1520.00

I was using Rymes but we switched to Dead River (they bought out Rymes's Tank) Im on a cost plus basis with Dead river. its their cost plus a few cents or whatever on top per gal. I prepay estimated total ahead of time before the truck shows up. with Rymes I had my bank account on file and I paid in Full at every fill up. I'm new to this whole thing but it probably because i refused to fill out any sort of credit application and I pay in full at each fill up?

Thanks buddy, it certainly wasnt built by a pro hahaha so that makes me feel good.

im getting some slight leaf tip burn and leaf cupping after transplant so im dropping the temp down to 79 today then 78 tomorrow it was set to 80. and RH is hovering between 55-60 now.

Very nice setup!!!
I am attempting to plan a similar space (20x24) so really appreciate you sharing your experience.
Look forward to following along.
Cheers :)
