Replacing my 600watt MH/HPS with a LED what are the best options

I’m currently running a 600w I just started flower but for my next cycle. I’d like to try out a led but I’d like the equivalent if not more than my current 600w. I’m growing in a 4x4x7 tent, what do you guys think. Here’s a picture from today this 2 Girl Scout cookies I had them vegging outside was using as morthers but decided to flower them I did LST them Lil before they went under the trellis but it seems they adjusted ok considering they stand at about 4.5 feet 9A110656-730C-4916-8B2B-31064EA61587.jpeg

I would look into the Kind K5 series. I believe they make 1000w and 750w equivalent full spectrum lights. I own the 750 equivalent and couldn't be happier with it. Their customer service is good too, I lost my little remote to program it and they got me a replacement super quickly.
It's a little pricey but better than having to replace a cheap eBay LED.

Just bought 9 HLG-550’s from horticultural lighting group after researching LEDs for about a year. They sell quantum board kits or complete units that seam to stack pretty hard. Don’t buy a blurple light. COBs or QB’s LM516C diodes seem to be the most efficient with the best spectra.

IMO 600 watts of hps is not enough light for a 4x4. I'm not saying that you can't get good results and I have, but you will get better results with a 1000 hps equivalent led. 400 watts of cobs (cree 3070 or 3590 or Bridgelux Vero 29 or Citizen clu48) would exceed the 600 hps, but 600 watts of cobs will exceed a 1000 watt hps with a fraction of the heat.

600 would be optimal for 4x4 I would think. I have a 400W hps in my 4x4 and I yield 20-24 oz's dried and cured out of 4 plants in a 3 1/2 month cycle with it. And the led's aren't a "fraction of the heat", they put out just about as much heat as the hid watt for watt.

Best way forward with LED is build one or buy premade cobs or something along the lines of quantum boards.
Your going to get same heat if you match it watt for watt but will get a lot more light for those watts. Which equates to more yield if you maximise your canopy.
So if you can handle the heat then go for it, if your struggling with temps you can match the output of a 600w with less wattage of cobs or you can find a balanced middle ground having a bit more light with a bit less wattage.

Thats great numbers for a 400watter. Especially with that short veg time you must be doing to finish in 31/2 months.
You must be running some type of hydro??. Whats your setup if you don't mind me asking?

Fox Farm Ocean Forest soil in 5 gallon pots. Using FF Grow Big with molasses and Epsom Salt starting at 2 weeks and continuing for 5-6 weeks from there. Then I switch to FF Tiger Bloom and Big Bloom with molasses and Esom Salt until finished. I usually flip to 12/12 around week 4 or 5. Then 10-11 weeks of flower. They end up about 36" tall on average with about 5 oz's each. My last grow had a runt that only gave me 2 3/4 oz, the biggest was 7 oz. Total of all 4 was just under 20 oz's, 539 grams.

is that time line from clones or seeds?

In my experience, the heat output is much less with led lights watt for watt. I ran air cooled hps with ballasts in a different room and now with the same wattage of leds, the heat drastically different. I know that it is "supposed" to be the same, but it isn't close.

I am currently running close to 400W of led and the heat output is almost exactly the same as my 400W hps. The tent temperature is staying about 10° above ambient room temperature in both tents.

400 watts of COBs so you would need four 50v cobs for 4x4?

the watts is the voltage of the cobs x the current of the drivers. a lot of people are using 36 v cree, citizen, or bridgelux cobs and running them at 1400mw to get @50w per cob. you can use a bunch of different configurations though. that would be 8 cobs to get to 400w. you can run cobs at 100 watts each, but imo its better to run more cobs spread out. my lights are always close to my canopy, so less cobs won't cover as much area for me. i'm helping a friend build a couple of lights using 36v vero29 run at 2100. a lot of people are putting 600 watt of cobs over a 4x4 by running 12 36v cobs at 1400ma. he is going to run 12 cobs at @79 each over the same 4x4. his thinking was that his vero build cost the same as my cree build and his will be brighter, even if it is overkill. if he has problems with heat, he can just dim the lights

a 600 watt hps is perfect for that size tent.1000 watts for a 5x5.

Thanks for the quick reply. I have a couple of questions haha, do you run 2 drivers? meanwell hlg-320h-36a? have you tried luminus COBs? I have only seen them online and the price is tempting
