Not bft, the domestic market sucks. other tuna yes, but again, it's treated like a commodity, sorted by grade and subject to market demand. I sell locally in the northeast, it is far from a stable process and some days prime grade tuna can't be sold because the buyers can't move it.

Those days suck.

Don't believe what you see on wicked tuna. No tuna gets paid for on the barrel head. You don't get paid until the buyer gets paid. Some days they won't take your fish because there is too much supply.

Edit: I should explain I sell more to the craft market, and I don't sell bft. The buyers I sell to turn around and sell to local markets and restaurants. I don't deal in the big fish regional markets in Boston. Too much hassle and not enough return. The craft market pays better and faster as a rule. But, some days you are just sol.
I want to visit and buy some fish from you someday.

Are you talking about using medical cannabis fibers or hemp fibers?

One of the issues with cannabis fibers is the thc content. It will likely be higher than .03% so it will be consered Cannabis rather than hemp.

Just curious.
Its all hemp. Everyone thinks as hemp as the tall lanky stuff with no thc.

Marijuana is slang. Its all hemp even the stuff that gets you high.

There are 3 types if hemp. Fiber hemp which is tall and lanky. Seed hemp, which is shorter and more resembles indica but still with no thc. Then medicinal hemp, which is anything psychoactive.

It should all be legal.

Hemp is now legal here and I've visited some of the fields. Lot of the seed hemp is grown here for oil production.

Thing is any of it is good for fiber.

I can't sell direct to consumer, but I can give you more than you can carry........

It's like cannabis in that respect. You need a food handlers distribution license to buy from fisherman and sell to retailers. Nobody gets end to end control unless you have a lot of money for licensing and reporting.

Now that's incentive! The fish available in Colorado is lacking in variety...

Or next week if that fool jose visits. ;)
As a long time Colorado resident, I moved to South Florida to try something different. I remember the altitude of the entire tricounty area being so low that one walked UP to cross the dunes at the beach.

I did not trust allllllllll that water to stay put, not one little bit. I made up a joke about it; 'if you're more than a dozen feet above sea level anywhere in SoFla, have a look around, cuz you're on the second floor of something!'

That was in 2005 and three of the four hurricanes that hit Florida that year brushed right by my apartment. I left in October and haven't been back, lol

New England is pretty safe as far as hurricanes go. They usually hit somewhere else, and the recent ones that hit haven't been that bad.

But we are due for another 1932 at some point. There won't be much left of long island if another one like that hits. It's basically a sideways florida. One long strip of sand and dirt right around sea level.

If jose threatens, I'll have to pull the boat and put it on land. It would be safer in the water but the marina is more worried about their docks than the boats. The risk is that a storm surge will flood the lot and the boats will all float up and get washed out.

My house is well inland and up at around 300 feet, so all I have to worry about is wind and falling trees along with power failures.

Disaster wise, we are pretty boring. We are overdue for a large earthquake, but otherwise we don't get fires, major floods, or disastrous storms. We get an occassional tornado, but nothing like the midwest or texas. And no mudslides.

In that respect, boring is good. Though our number will eventually come due.......

I live in South Florida and I am just shy of 13 feet above sea level. I've been through 2 hurricanes in the last 13 years. The first, Charley, we didn't evacuate in spite of ominous warnings of 10 foot surge. We got nothin' except a few downed trees. Irma was forecast with 15 foot surge and hubby bullied me into leaving. Never again! It cost me a fortune, and was totally unnecessary. I'm sure global warming will get us sooner or later, but we're in our 60's so we may not live long enough to worry about it too much. I'm willing to take my chances. Hubby can hit the road if he wants...good riddance.

We used to have hurricane parties.

When the eye went over we'd go out and have trials of stupid challenges, after the storm passed we'd all go surfing.
