i guess it won't affect white males.

but i swore that these "true progressives" were willing to run anti-choice candidates because free healthcare (for men and not women) was so important to them?
Beats me. He won't answer questions because it's dishonest to quote him exactly and ask what he meant.

Sanders says he's willing to work with people he doesn't always agree with. Even extended an endorsement for an anti choice Democrat who agreed with him on other policy issues like health care. I'm still with Bernie. Except I'm not willing to vote for an anti-choice Democrat. But I could work with one if I had to.

Are you guys talking about choice with pregnancy? What an age old issue an subject. I remember when I was a card carrying member of the Libertarian Party way back when. It really tore that Party apart back in the eighties. I wised up and left them kooks behind. But anyways...it never got resolved..and well...its a tough issue. Thats all I gotta say.

not really.

if dudes could get pregnant you'd know full well you'd be for choice.

but yeah, the temptation to let authoritarians and bible beaters control our choices really seems appealing too i guess.

I thought it was resolved in 1973.

I haven't seen it reversed, I just see bible thumping red states creating obstacles and right wing terrorists shooting doctors at clinics.

The issue is returning with the alt right and evangelist Christians now in full control of our government. Some states have never accepted women's right to choose. Texas has always been putting up obstacles for poor women getting access to reproductive health care including abortion but even birth control.

Agree with you that it's absolutely nuts and I too had thought this archaic form of paternalistic authoritarianism was a thing of the past. Anti-semitism too. But I was wrong.

That said, some Democrats or people who want to vote Democratic on other issues are still in the anti-choice camp. The issue under debate within the Democratic Party is whether or not the right to choose is a litmus test on becoming a Democratic Party congressman. For myself, I'll never vote for a person who is anti choice. The question I'm open to is whether or not a Democratic Party Representative from a conservative district must be pro-choice or be excluded from the Democratic Party Congressional or Senate Caucuses. I lean to the idea that people in their district have the right to the representative they want. That's what Sanders is advocating. Other Democratic leaders as well. Because the party needs those districts in order to take back congress. So, it's a rogue's bargain. I help you, you help me.

Same goes with gun control.

This does not mean that the platform plank containing support for women's rights is under review.

It's complicated. And not pure ideology at work here.

Justice Democrats are probably hard line in making women't right to choose a litmus test. It's easier to be hard line if you've never had to govern in a large multicultural democracy.

DEFEND AND PROTECT WOMEN’S RIGHTS.
We support the Paycheck Fairness Act. We oppose Republican cuts to Planned Parenthood and women’s health clinics all across the country. In 2016 alone, 60 TRAP laws targeting abortion were passed in 19 states. We will vigorously oppose all efforts to dismantle reproductive rights.

"No abortions!"

Probably followed up by:

"Pay for your own baby"

They're braindead, I wouldn't bother trying.

We supported Clinton in the face of a Trump presidency.

NO.
We begged you to support Clinton in the face of a Trump presidency. YOU refused. You called her names, you spouted the same misinformation the Trumptards were saying about her. YOU called her derisive names. YOU told people you were going to stay home rather than vote. YOU thought maybe if Trump got it it was our fault for not backing Sanders and we deserved it. YOU told people it was Bernie or nothing.

AND now that Trump is President thanks to the damage you did. YOU claim you voted for Clinton but she is still shit.

YOUR ACTIONS HELPED USHER TRUMP INTO OFFICE
OWN IT

The most important states, though, were Michigan, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin. Trump won those states by 0.2, 0.7 and 0.8 percentage points, respectively — and by 10,704, 46,765 and 22,177 votes. Those three wins gave him 46 electoral votes; if Clinton had done one point better in each state, she'd have won the electoral vote, too.

You can point fingers all you want. The facts are what matter. More Sanders supporters voted for Clinton in 2016 than Clinton supporters voted for Obama in 2008. She lost because she was a terrible candidate.

If you don't want to lose in 2018 and 2020, don't vote for a terrible candidate just because your feelings tell you they're electable. If you looked at objective evidence, you would have known she's not.

Then quote it

"According to the exit polls, half of Clinton's supporters in Indiana would not vote for Obama in a general election match up with John McCain. A third of Clinton voters said they would pick McCain over Obama, while 17 percent said they would not vote at all. Just 48 percent of Clinton supporters said they would back Obama in November."

I actually think a lot of what he says is brilliant. I just don't like his supporters. Especially the hypocritical ones with superiority complexes that try to tell me I'm the reason this country is fucked, but won't say a thing against Trump unless it's to insult the party they were supporting only just a few months prior. They try to turn Sanders into some kind of god, but in reality he's just another over payed career politician with some ok ideas. Ok ideas that would have an infinitesimal chance of getting passed in the climate we live in right now.
