My actual favourite size is 12 " x 24"

but if a smaller one is popular

i was too shy to ask at the start

i will talk to the factory about voltages etc.

as well as making retro fit sizes for Mars panels

the factory does have s6 and will send me/anyone the packaging

they know the value of business..and its not like they want my dough upfront

while they wait for them

people been talking strips for a long time, they just werent super cost effective at the time
Actually they make more sense for a grow light, being close to 2 feet long. Two of them end to end would fit a 4'x4' tent very nicely, with a few inches elbow room left. It's a fairly practical size for shipping too. There are also heat sinks available that they slide right into, like long channels. QB shape is not really appropriate for available heat sinks, you have to use finned aluminum cut to size. Actually I don't even know why you didn't just make strips like that. Example heat sinks.

With the 66w ones you'd only need 2 strips per sq foot, pretty practical. So for a 4'x4' you'd need 16 total, since they would be end to end, for a 1000 watts. Or if you wanted to run them softer I guess you'd need more.

I have been following this thread. I started with cxa's on to cxb's and looking for what is next. I am open-minded so I look with an open mind to what works. If I don not find anything working I create it. I have been experimenting with cree Royal Blue, Far Red, Deep Red, and IR leds for a few a couple of years now. I am also experimenting with full spectrum cob's recently, as well. From my observations, I have discovered it is joules/energy or u/moles that is most important to plants not perceived light. I made a mistake a year ago, and ran some cxa 3590's 5000k at 12-25w max with 36w Royal Blue. Great vegging. I removed the Royal Blue and added a 30w full spectrum cob in it's place and see healthier plants. The full spectrum is 380nm - 830nm I believe. Mostly red and Blue and some green.

I find today, an argument over a board, similar to arguing over COB's and which bin is better, which layout is better and whom has it and so on and so forth. DIY is about sharing. If another guy gets a QB 'like' board built cheaper, than get your boards built there too, better pricing. I have been looking for what is next and Samsung is next. However, QB is not the only Samsung user. I know of others that have the same S6 bin similar design, more colors, and are not saying a word, just selling. That seems to be the best approachs action over words.

I am sorry the QB crew feels they have been stolen from, but to be copied is the highest form of flattery. I have been copied many times over the years. it hurts, but it means something. I am sure the first COB guys felt the same way, with their four cob bar. Everyone has a four cob bar now. Great for all of us. I am sure there is more than enough business to go around that we can support everyone. If one guy has it and the other guys is waiting, go for it and vice versa. I don't complain when folks throw coralux and steves leds at me and I do not even see a comparison or get any ups. But I roll for me. I think that what @OLD MOTHER SATIVA did will drive prices down for everyone, just as in other arenas. Don't blame a DIY guy for what the industry does. We should be bigger than that.

Off my stage and back to work for my clients. peace out.

I've got nearly $2000 invested in QBs. If a problem arises I know that I can reach someone at HLG. It will be interesting to see when/if these "other" boards start delaminating or random diodes burn out due to shotty reflow.... how many people will be stuck out the cold.
"sorry the number you have dialed is no longer in service"
I dont get this comment a supplier you work with, talked about building dissimilar shaped boards with the same type of diodes, just a couple of days ago...irony?

side note:
I remember the days when all the DIY guys Weren't trying to start companies, shit over each other and stab each other in back. You are either for free enterprise or for capitol control, you cant have it both ways.....

Knowing how people like to bash any LED I'm sure they will try to point the finger at HLG QBs. As I've stated before HLG could have built a stand alone light with these and sold them as such. The fact that they introduced them to us in a DIY fashion at a fraction of the cost is unheard of today. As an early QB customer thank you gents !
are you sure....

if you google led grow light patent....Nextlight has a patent. Maybe they cant legally......

So its totally cool if i go into your gogreen controller threads and try to sell my knockoff controller that does all the same shit, same case same outputs ,basically copy your control and tell everyone i have them cheaper and do it IN YOUR THREAD ?
Thats what i have a problem with lol. We good vegas,im just tryin to point out the obvious scumbag tactic of using the most viewed thread in the led section to do your dirty work.
25 boards from china haha, good luck getting those warranted if theres a problem, just look at mars, hey we'll send ya the parts in 6 weeks hahaaha

We are all learning a fair bit about ethics and respectability here the last day or so.
Excellent work @Evil-Mobo on the grow and thread tracking :)
I'm gonna switch you to Shitizen soon :P

Thanks for the kind words brother nothing compared to your grows but I just make the best use of the space available better than not being able to grow at all, especially when it's personal meds for myself.

wait what......then the guy actually making the diode with his machine is getting the ultimate shaft here ....its called an inverted economy...the guy doing the actual labor gets paid the least while the people actually doing the least amount of physical labor gets paid the most...that is how revolutions started in some cases in history...that may be more important than this silly tit for tat of who came up with the best service idea first.....logic y'all

Doubt it, sounds like more nonsense LED claims, those things are junk , at best a side light , you can pickup those boards for cheap on Alibaba , nothing new here just recycled junk tech.
Hey look who was right the whole time, posted on the first page, you can literally buy these on alibaba for super cheap and make them yourself. This isn't a new tech.....

Where is talk of the accountability or culpability of Samsung by selling these diodes to others than HLG. when some emotions calm down people may actually think about this........
