AK Auto Fem Canuk seeds & Auto fem blue cheese Royal Queen Seeds
Germinated both seeds via paper towel method the AK tap root sprouted in 23 hours and the cheese in 27 hours.
Planted the AK in a 5 gallon smart pot, and the cheese in a 5gallon plastic pot with drilled holes. Coco coir with compost and worm castings 30% perlite PH at 6.5 and pre watered soil. AK I planted tap root down and cheese tap root up never understood the difference I've always done taproot down but we'll see.
24 hrs of light in my 2x4x5 grow tent, 4in 240cfm exhaust and 4in 140cfm intake, 6in clip fan, cool mist humidifier and warm mist humidifier that keeps my tent between 73F-80F and 40%-65%humidity.I have one 400w (195w) Roleardo C.O.B. And One Ledgle 300w (135w)

Well so far both girls seem to be doing good although the blue cheese is about twice as big as the ak which is weird because the ak germinated faster and broke through the soil faster? The cheese has been under the bigger light though I'm thinking about alternating them, but also thought it would be a cool experiment to see how much better one maybe than the other. So far still only using ph balanced water around 6.5 not sure when I'll add nutes and when I do they will be very diluted. Will be running advanced nutrients cal mag and humboldts veg and flowering nutes. This is my first auto grow and first led grow so I'm not sure what to expect but definitely hoping to get 3-4 oz per plant is that realistic? Thanks in advance for any input or advice.

Anyone have experience growing Canuk seeds or Royal Queen seeds? I've never used either I've only used Nirvana and Dutch passion in the past.

Our plants sprouted damn near the same day, although you're using auto seeds, and I'm using one Mars 300 , and I'm running Dwc.
It will still be nice to compare as they grow

Nice setup it will be cool for sure to see how much or how much less my plants will produce lol I'm hoping to get lucky it seems from reading so much about autos that they are total hit or miss and I believe that already based on my cheese being much bigger than the AK. Happy growing

So my little AK is not doing so hot growth is very slow and she is falling over if you look at the pics at the base of the stem it's twisted and the leaves although the color looks good they are kinda curling up. Im pretty stumped any feedback would be great. I just finally gave them a small dose of cal mag today so hopefully that helps. The AK is less than half the size of the blue cheese, and it's pretty clear too see if you check out the pictures. I've been watering them once a day about 12 oz each per day. One spray bottle shared between the two of them the top 4 inches of soil is in the "red" 3 on my moisture meter and a "green" 7 if I put the meter in almost to the bottom about 10 inches down. I've been regulating the temp and humidity quite consistently 75-79F and 50-65% My lights are 12 inches (the blurble 135w) and 18 inches (the COB 195w) I'm running 24/0. Watering is my nemesis lol I always question if it's too much or not enough I'm not used to these sensitive baby autos. Also I want to lst but I'm not sure when to start that? Thanks in advance for any feedback and advice.IMG_0427.JPGIMG_0429.JPG IMG_0425.JPGIMG_0426.JPG IMG_0414.JPGimage.jpg image.jpg

The AK is a sativa dominate like 80/20 and the cheese is a indica dominate 70/30 I think. Don't know if that will help the diagnosis of my little girl or not... Like I said the AK germinated first and sprouted first so it's strange as to why it's falling behind at this stage in the game I don't think the difference in the lighting is the issue but I could be totally wrong as this is my first LED and environment controlled tent grow.

Well first off 5 gallon pot it's pretty big for an auto flower I would go 3 gallon Max Remember you have a seedling that has to establish its roots so it's going to take a long time for growth and one thing at Autos don't have is time! Also I would keep lights at least 24 inches away. as for one growing larger than the other it's different strains and even if it was the same one when you're grown from seed they are not going to grow even more parent a and even if it was the same strain when you're grown from seed they are not going to all grow even. Your attempt seem to be right on. as far as yielding three or 4 ounces per plant I think that's a bit overboard especially it being your first time at Autos and LED shit three or 4 ounces is a great on a auto flowering plant but I doubt that you would see that ever

Thanks a lot for the feedback fellas much appreciated. I moved my lights up to 24" and added soil about 3" to the AK and just an inch or so around the blue cheese. Also the pots are awfully large lol. I read and read and researched for a solid few months leading up to my winter grow and wasn't even going to do Autos, but decided to try them. Unfortunately I went with the 5 gallon size and it's for sure overkill. I'm going to be adding 6 CFLs (3)/plant and 6500k until they start flowering then 2700k, 85w actual draw. The bulbs are huge haha. And I based my 3-4 oz hailmary prediction on the basis of a gram per watt, and that I will be doing some lst, but 1-2 oz per plant would be cool!

In DWC you can expect at least 2oz per plant if they are done correctly, the start is a critical stage. If you get off to a good start you will be amazed at how much they can produce. Soil is not going to yield as much . Good idea with CFL they are great! If I where you I would do bubble buckets next grow especially if your only doing a couple, really easy and inexpensive with high yields, I'm currently growing Train Wreck auto in DWC

Yea I've always been very intrigued with DWC and hydroponics in general. A friend of mine swears by it although he's only ever grown that way. I think he's running a 12x5gallon bucket system the reservoir is massive. If this grow goes ok I may build or buy a single plant 5 gallon bucket setup they are fairly cheap the ones that include everything.

Very good report this far! I've got a bit of experience with autoflowers so maybe I can lend you some tips to take or leave.

With auto I keep the tap root down because as Johnhorror said, autos don't really have much time to fool around with. Also, you want to keep in mind they're on a timer in a sense so any transplanting will put it behind and therefore affect how big your yield is. You therefore want to plant the germinated seed in the largest container you would have if you were transplanting so to not have to transplant. These autoflowers are strong as you can see so they stabilize to 5 or 7 gallon buckets super easily.

As your plants start to grow you'll be tempted to prune the lower leaves that begin to die or even because you get the urge to clean up so lower nodes get sun but you MUST resist! that stress will put your plant behind as well, instead, tuck those fan leaves under the noses as much as possible and keep the LED as close as you can without causing other forms of stress like heat or light which again, will affect how big your yield is.

I love autos because they're just a sow and feed plant, if you find a good strain that's consistent you will be more than happy with the end product. Autos are generally more resilient to pests and mold which is a plus, the only thing you really have to watch out for are the things that will stress them out and put them behind!

Looking forward to your future updates!!

Watching this for sure. I have a similar grow going on right now with the same 400w roleadro light if youre interested. (I assume you have the Roleadro HYG05-2X200W-W COB LED Full Spectrum 400W)

I'm at day 39 of flowering with casey jones and papaya, FFOF with LST training. https://www.rollitup.org/t/sl3xx-journal.925536/page-3#post-13311137

I grew up until week 3 of flowering with just that light, then I added another 200w roleadro COB (single light version, half of that one) so theyre side by side. Hoping itll increase the yield.

Thanks a lot for the advice and I will definitely be checking out your previous and current journals. I think one of my biggest mistakes is over thinking. I need to use the KISS method lol.

Yep that's the one man it seems pretty decent so far. I may buy another one as I just added another girl to my grow. Btw your grow looks awesome that papaya looks delicious. I'll be following your journal for sure dude!

My pleasure buddy! Yeah you have to find that fine line between over thinking and just letting it happen. I tend to over think all the time, especially when I don't see my plants Grow super fast when I think they should be hahah
