My 4ft8bulb Durolux T5HO only has four bulbs working. Say there's bulbs 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8

1 and 8 are the most outer bulbs 4 and 5 are the middle. Well only
1,2,3,4 are turning on, the other half isn't.. How can I fix this piece?

It has two ballast and two switches. Either bad switch or ballast.

They have a warranty. Just contact them. I'm sure they will figure something out.

I've had a couple items go bad from amazon. I take the time to check the sellers out. Out of the things that went bad one was my inline fan. Bearing didn't sound right in it. Hell they mailed a replacement as soon as I gave them a tracking number for the return.

that fixture has 2 ballastwise instant star ballast. maybe one of you ballast has failed or a power input line has come loose.oen it up and check the connection. you may need to replace the ballast. first check to make sure all the switches are turned on. that ballast will light the god tubes even if one tube goes out

I know it sounds silly but moving the bulbs to different sockets can make them work. Wiggle all the bulbs and make sure they are snapped in.

@Kind Sir
It is easy to take apart. flip where the bulbs are up. See the little clips. It is an elongated hole. rotate the clip 90 degrees and pull them out. then you can see the ballast. I take mine apart and shop vac it every six months or so.

amazon is good about replacing defective or broken items. I received some broken bulbs from them once. sent them a picture and they replaced them

if each ballast if firing 2 tubes than maybe the tubes are defective. have you tried moving the tubes to see if the light in different sockets. I have a 6 bulb version of that light and mine has worked great.

I have two of them. a 6 bulb and 8 bulb. The 6 has been running longer than my 8 bulb. I've been running mine over two years non stop. Durolux has a warranty. Contact them and se what they say.

if you do need to replace the ballast this may be an affordable upgrade https://www.1000bulbs.com/product/91989/PLUSRITE-7319.html these are commercial grade program start ballast with a ballast factor of 1.0. they will draw a little more power(432 watts in an 8 bulb fixture) but will drive tubes to their rated output. the ballastwise OEM units are more expensive and have a BF of 0.9. they draw less power but under drive the tubes producing less light and lower power consumption

Agree it sounds like a ballast. But switching some tubes around can sometimes have some mojo. Haave no clue why, mostly I think I just grind into contact better on the tube ends.

Get good replacement ballasts. Not the cheap shit. I bought 4 quad bulb 48" ers for my workshop a few years ago ($20 for the fixture), and it was like trying to work in a disco. Lights flashing on and off constantly. It was a joke. Bought decent $25 ballasts and 6 years later humming right along.

Get good ballasts. Best bet might to be to go to an elec supply house and pay a little more to talk with a knowledgeable person vs. talking to the college girl in the elec dept at Lowes or HD.

Shit ballasts are just shit, have ran through many, not in a grow situation but general household / shop use. Replaced a dozen or more on cheap units.

On my 8tube,ballast proved to be the problem.Good thing I save receipts. They tried to say it was out of warranty until I pulled out my evidence. :hump: for free....:eyesmoke:

Why buy when it's under warranty? Durolux are cheaper lights but are good lights. They have good reviews on them and stand by thier warranty.

I say contact them and they may send ballasts out for free instead of shipping the light back.

Hey man, I bought my T5 atleast a year ago and don't have my receipt.. Amazon doesn't even show that I ordered it, only shows orders placed within 6months ago. Am I seriously going to have to eat this, or what can I do?

They have a customer support number. I also think there is a place you click for older orders.

When you pull up your orders it goes back so far and then there is a place to click show all or older orders.

Here is the number. 888-280-4331.

Edit. I just logged into my acct on amazon. When I go to orders it is for the last six months. Then there is a link on the right top of the page that says "filter orders.". Click that and it let's you choose the year you want to look at.

Thanks man! Yea my Amazon filter only says 6 months/30 days/2017! No help there! I messaged them and they asked for my order ID number or whatever, I gave them all my personal info to try and look it up that way, I'll probably just call them.
I just looked. 5 year warranty for durolux.

Weird. My filter goes back 4 years, about how long I been using them.

If nothing else a call may work. Hope you get it sorted out.
