Here are the sample photos. Final heatsink will be anodized.

Design Notes:
Pattern compatible HLG-120H and HLG-240H. Moving a hole on other side so the HLG-80H will work too
Better to install board in the end to avoid damage
1/2 side L Channels 1/16 or 1/20 can be used to connect multiple heastinks.
L Channels with leg facing down can protect diodes in case you keep lamp diode side down on table

Going to make a veg lamp with HLG-120H-C1400A
Bolt down driver with 2xM4 nut/bolt
Wago on a power cable.
Screw down board with 8 screws
Wire the driver DC to boards and wago
Install hanger clip

another way to protect the diodes is to use long screws with nuts to secure the boards

With no air movement.
For this non anodized sample, at 700ma heatsink running 55C
With final anodized version heatsink will stay under 50C. Add 5C-10C if optics on.

Added to herb tent. Should run cooler with airflow in tent. Running driver at minimum so 65W at wall.

2x2 veg tent with 3000K 80 CRI

Hmmm, I've got one board from a different source and I just screwed the thing onto a big AL plate I had lying around. I'm getting the feeling, after toying around with this thing for a couple days now, I could put 6 of these in my 3x3 pheno test tent and I would have great coverage at about 70 watts each. Either I go grab some aluminum plate tomorrow and get this thing built real soon (even though I won't need it for a while now) or I wait on your pre-drilled heatsinks. Any predictions on cost? That's basically my only concern at this point. I've already got the HLG 240's, but I still don't want to go above $180 or thereabouts for the heatsinks.

That seals the deal. $90-110 for all the heatsinks brings me up to $535-550 for this light, about twice the cost but double the efficiency of a similar HID solution. Any possibility the boards might come down in price as volume increases? If these guys were $65 a piece, well then that would mark a major price milestone for LED horticulture lighting.

Robin has been straight forward in all my dealings with him. He is providing another grow option for the members of this forum. This is a changing market, new techs, new twists on old techs. We are all trying to make the best grow with what we can afford. He provided what he had and the numbers to go with it. You may not like it, but don't call him a lair.

I'm not gonna keep on and on but don't expect great results from these. Statistics and charts can be skewed to ones own agenda. These type lights are best for micro grows.

Robin has no reason to lie. If he were hot up on these quantum boards just to turn a profit, why would he go to the trouble of producing all this data and what not when he could just keep selling COBs, claiming they are the best option currently available? He's doing it because he gives a shit about horticulture lighting (and he wants to make a living), but mostly because he gives a shit. You don't get people doing the work he does just to make a quick buck off some snake oil.
