CXB3590 DD bin where to find them?

really hard not to build anything from any mfr that wont be outdated within a year. id wait and see what the best chip is in 6 mos. never advisable to buy electronics before you need them (that said, if youre replacing somethign inefficient like T5 get on it, you'll recoup the cost of the chips relatively quickly)

we may never get to DD in 3590, hard to say. if and when it does happen they will prob have a new line out. it would be nice if they could improve the 3590 and keep the same package size for all the people with existing infrastructure. citi has done this for a few generations, with the clu044/045/046/047/048 and 056/057/058 series.

well efficiency numbers are moving target as they are generally specd at a nominal wattage. so for example larger more expensive chips are specd at a higher wattage than what we would use them in. that said the larger chips way overperform in the 40-100W range we like to run them

id personally go with citi 1818 ($24) to match a $40 CXB, new vero29 ($23-31) or citi 1825 ($40) to beat it. some people like more smaller chips, like the citi1212 which is about 75% of a CXB and is a $12 chip. one of them doesnt beat a cxb but 3 do, and are cheaper and better coverage

ask in 2 mos and you might get a different answer
I was under the impression the citi 1818 was not even cracking 50% efficiency at 1.05? While the CXB DB are hitting 66%? I rather worry about the cost of electric adding up than the cost of building it. Sorry i meant i will not be looking to by for 4-6 months as it will only take a few days to throw it together. Thanks for all the help i really appreciate someone who is willing to help like you.

Cree 5k DD's have been out in the wild for months now. DIY and production units.

Pacific Light Concepts
so shipping under DB order code presumably. i guess its inevitable that at some point they will have enough stock to make an order code

He has nothing on his site but pre built and hangers and never responds to my PM's so I need to look elsewhere I guess or just go DB bin oh well.

Well I went ahead and ordered the 5000K in CD bin from mouser along with the other 3000K I needed. Was pricey but I sold some stuff recently on amazon to cover costs so no biggie. Hope the CD Bin is good in the 5K from cree for veg.

Thanks for the help guys.
