Hi everyone. I'm relatively new to growing. Haven't managed to grow anything successfully yet. It's between inexperience, bad weather. And two critters that like to munch on my garden. One of which is my dog... The other is fookin caterpillars.

Anyway... I've decided to go indoors for at least the medicinal part of the garden. I went and got a cabinet that's about 1.2 x 1.2 x 2.6 ft Or 36 x 36 x 80 cm (W,D,H). I'm going to try a decent soil mix. In an 11 liter bucket, that's about 24cm high.

I've chosen a seemingly decent looking GrowSmart: GS-135, 90w, full spectrum LED as my light of choice. Got that on special for $340 with controller. It's 7cm deep. And about 22 x 22cm wide.

I'm currently lacking in an extractor of any kind (I know I'll need one). And only have couple of bagseeds at my disposal. All of which came from some tasty smoke.

I've been looking into fimming and lst-ing as options for height control. And yeild boosting.

So. My questions are. If I had some decent beans to plant. What could I expect to yield from a cabinet this size, on average? What beans would you use in something this size? And does anything else need to be changed with this setup?

Cheers in advance.

looks good. I grow in small boxes as well. I have a 14"x8" box that I've pulled about 2 oz out of. I run the exhaust with 2 pc fans and 2 of the diy pencil holder filters. Works out great.

Make sure you do something to lightproof the door. I'd go with passive intakes and all fan power on exhausts/filters...with fan before filter to help muffle noise. You can go with fan/filters outside, or maybe squeeze them inside up against the ceiling.

also blynx has done some amazing work at IC with his square foot boxes. He used to run cfl, but now I think he's trying out some led bulbs and having even better results.

I've got the front panel light proofed. I'm just trying to get the edges to seal to my liking now. I think the cabinet is slightly crooked though. Because the door never seems to sit straight. Despite being new.

How did you get nearly 2ounces from that?

I grow 8 clones in it and do a sog...each in about a liter of coco. I had about 60w of led bulbs in there but I switched to a single 28w cob recently.

Thanks for the input folks. I forgot to mention that I'd germinated 3 seeds.
And now I have two healthy looking seedlings at about a week and a half old. One seed came out all munted. And wasn't really growing. Basically what's left had their 3rd set of leaves. And the munted one barely had stumps for 1st set. So I uprooted it.

This one is earlier. From before I got rid of the third.

Here's a close up of one.

I'd be happy if I could get an ounce from this run. Just to get started.

After that. Who knows. I might go for a larger cabinet. I may just choose to run some short n sweet auto goodness.

It's too late now. Already buried it deep in the soil. Just left the two bigger ones.

And to be honest. While I would like it if they were both female. I'll keep growing them if they end up males. Simply because I'd get free seeds.

However. If one is male. It has to go. Whether that's the compost. Or just outside. Either way. They'll need to be separated.

@claypipe69 what about if they're both female. I've only got the one cabinet. So, what then?

Do I try and grow both in the same pot. Or attempt to move one- say, outside?

I also want to apply lst and fim/top methods.

All good let em grow an enjoy the outcome no male no loss just fat bitches to smoke. If you get a male thats good to leave well enough alone an enjoy the grow experience. You win both ways :leaf::mrgreen::leaf:

You do realize male plants only produce pollen sacks to fertilize the females who then produce the seeds right? That is why people seperate the males from the females so the males dont pollinate the females. Males pollinating females creates seeds in your bud.

Ah. Fuck. Sorry. Guess I'm too fekkin tired to know what I'm writing. Been cleaning a house the past two days solid.

Okay. So males are a waste of time unless I want pollen. Or to knock up my girls, right?

Also. Keep in mind. I've mainly only been a smoker. Not a grower. I'm new to this.
