How do you make cloning water from a willow and how do you use it???
Cloning water? Im sure it exists but its easier to just go out to your local hydro store and get rooting compound or rooting gel. Dip the end of the cutting in it and put it in your propagator. Voila...roots.

Make Your Own Rooting Hormone With Willow Water!

The active ingredient of many commercial rooting products is Indolebutyric Acid (IBA), a natural plant hormone. Although store-bought rooting hormone powders now use a synthetic version of IBA, you can try the real thing by making a batch of willow water.

Here's what you do:

1. Get a handful of willow twigs (any Salix species will do)

2. Cut them into pieces a few inches long

3. Soak the twigs in a few inches of water for a day or two; then remove the twigs.

4. Use the willow water to soak cuttings in overnight, or to water flats of newly started cuttings, or to help transplants.

Now remember since this method isn't very exact, the strength of the willow water can vary depending on the time of year, the number of twigs, the concentration of hormones in the twigs, and the amount of time that the twigs were soaked. You will, however, still get a solution that will help your plants root.
hope this helps.
crazy.

NO. I don't want rooting gel because it's synthetic garbage. Thanks for the great info everyone.

If you actually read the link..

It's not "synthetic garbage."

It's 100% organic, it creates a gloop that is similar in texture to rooting gel.

Cut some willow branches (All willow species produce this natural rooting hormone), into 2" or 4" long pieces (enough pieces to fill a bowl).

Put the willow cuttings into a big kettle (or pot) on the stove, fill with water (all cuttings should be are covered by water). Turn on minimum heat setting, cover with a lid, and leave on low (but do not boil) for 2 hours. Then turn off heat and leave kettle covered for 12 hours.

After the mixture has cooled for 12 hours, the water should be a dark brown. Strain out the water, and discard the branches. Pour the mixture into a container with a plastic top with holes pre-made, and just drop your cuttings in. Let the clones sit in the hormone for 12 to 24 hours (thus allowing the cuttings to fully absorb the rooting hormones), then plant into your medium.

Use as much rooting hormone as you require, then discard the used portion. The unused hormone can be stored in the ice box for years

Perhaps you should have looked at the link properly.

Not hating on you, i just don't feel theres a need to be rude to someone who has actually given you honest/decent help.

WTF, who are you? I wasn't talking about the willow water being "synthetic garbage", I was referring to cloning gel which is synthetically made. If you actually read what I was saying instead of searching for a pointless argument, my response might have been different. Not hating on you, I just don't feel there's a need for you to be telling me what I should have done when infact you are the one who doesn't understand.
