Nextlight Mini 150w grow

My buddy was offered to test out the Nextlight mini package but after receiving the light and 2x2.5 tent wasn't able to run it due to unforeseen circumstances so I obliged.
I figure if it doesn't make the cut it only costs me 150w + 20w for the fan in electric a month. Not the end of the world.
Plus I had 4 Blue Dream clones that were getting binned anyway due to space so it worked out.
I'm on day 29 with the Blue Dream under my cobs so I'll be able to get a good comparison of the exact same plant as far as quality and density etc...

Just set it up today and moved the clones which are approx 4 weeks old into the tent. Also topped them just now.
I'll let them veg for another 2 weeks then flip.
It's pretty darn bright but not as blinding as my cobs but it's also pulling 90w less so I'm sure that makes a difference.
It's been on about 3 hrs now and is just warm to the touch, slightly warmer than one of my cxa's bars but oddly enough the temp inside the tent didn't budge from before I hung the light till now and it's passively cooled.

It's a 50/50 mix of 3000k and 5000k.
I'll update on day one of flower and give it a fair run. Girls are in coco as well with Jacks 321 straight through.

Flower day 1
Threw a screen over them 2 days ago.
Lowered the light to about about 7.25"
I'll play with the height over the next few weeks. I will have much better canopy control since I know how these blue dreams grow.
I want to keep everything on the screen, anything under or that doesn't make it above the screen in 2 weeks is getting plucked.

Lookin' good!!! I'm hoping to get my 2 cxb3590's (36v. 3500k, cd bin, 80cri) soon. I'll be doing a 2 plant scrog in a 2x2x5.3 tent like yours. My driver specs are 25-40v., @ 1500ma...I definitely find inspiration in your journals. Thanks for sharing!

My screen is set so much higher. I feel like maybe I'm doing it wrong? I wanna be able to full out the full 4x4. I havent put the screen on the pvc poles yet though cause they haven't reached it. Should I lower the poles? (Cut them shorter)20160417_143348.jpg 20160407_134731.jpg

@Airwalker16 it all depends on how tall you are going to veg them out. Those poles look way to high, you'll get a support system at best. Just go through the 2 or 3 posts in this thread and check the dates and that will give you good idea on when and how to place your screen to your liking.
I didn't give them the 2 week veg under the screen as planned but again the dates will show that.
Also once you place your screen down, clean up/prune/pull/ pluck all leaves, tops etc under the screen because they will be useless and take away energy that can fatten up everything above the screen.

I know that. But Im still vegging. I haven't flipped to 12/12 yet. So I can grow them to that height.
Then your pretty much answering your own question.
How tall do you plan on vegging them?
Simple, when you get to your desired height in veg and are planning on flipping a week later then place your screen right on the plants and start training them under it. Then after you flip continue to tuck till stretch is over. There's really not much more to it.

I just was asking in possibility that someone may have had a similar experience. That way if someone happened to run into any issues, they could give me a heads up.

You could veg them as high and as long as you want to but remember you only have so much height in the tent plus you're filling a screen so no need to waste the time growing the plants tall when you want them to grow wide and sideways under a screen, catch my drift? You'll get the hang of it. My first scrog was my best one yet, but I plan on beating it with this one.

Well from the ones I've seen pics and vids of that look successful are a good 18-24" from the base of the stem with looooots of branches coming off the mains and nicely pruned. No foliage, just thick branches.

Also, my lights can go nearly to the top of my tent so I have more than enough vertical space. It's at 34" from the floor now with another 41" of space above the screen.

It's just hard to incision I guess where they're not even to the right height yet, it's hard to imagine all the growth I see right now basically being stripped from the main stem and left bare. But once they get large and in charge I'm sure it will all feel right.
