Hey GM, youve used the 4000k 3590s, what do you think of them? 1000 more flux over the 3500's make up for the slightly less desirable spectrum?

i have not actually. i use the 3500k 3590s. however, I have done multiple runs with 4000k cxa3070. I cant tell the difference from the 500k swing. the only differences i can see are the yield numbers coming from the higher efficiency new tech.

am I mistaken or does the 5000k DB get higher efficiency than the 3500k CD? what is its eff @ say 350ma, 700ma, and 1400ma?

yeah I've looked at those and it doesn't make sense to me, which is why i asked. for example when i look at the line of 700ma in the first chart you posted (the only one that relates to my question) when i look across this line the only value that seems to reference an efficiency is the 50c% column which has it at 56% efficient and I know thats not the case because I already know the 3500k CD bin is 56% efficient at 1400ma.


the cxb3590 36v 3500k CD @ 700ma is 64% efficient. @1400ma 56%.

what is the % for the cxb3590 36v 5000k DB @ 700ma, 1400ma?

With your 315w LEC running at 42% efficient you will get 132.2 PAR watts before any losses from the reflector. You will be putting approx 1071 BTU of heat into the room ( 3400btu x 0.315).

With one of these 4 cob kits 200w @ 56% eff = 112 PARw & 680 BTU of heat per hour. IF you add the 5th cob to this kit (since the driver runs 5)

- 250w * .56 = 140PARw & 850BTU.

Is it worth it for the additional cost. LEC= $420-499 vs $404- $ 499. when you run the numbers, they kind of speak for themselves..

I checked also first post. I only see Topbin CRI80 at 3000K. The other are second bin. Of course >4000K it is Topbin but only for CRI70. It is not possible to take 4000K CRI 80. Why you prefer CRI70? Do you also use CRI70 in your grows? Or, because CRI70 is more than 30% cheaper? I know prices;)

lower CRIs are almost always brighter for a given color temp

lumens are for humans. plants want photons, and lots of them...

Sure, but photons of right Spectrum. With CRI70 you get a ton of blue and green photons, but less less red. So why not use only Blue Leds? There you get most photon out.

I respect and admire your pursuit for the best. why dont you try a 90 or 95 CRI cob grow and see if the increase in red but the net photon loss effects your yield. then report back to us. cheers.

Still tried CRI90. You are right, there still less power but grow much better if you compare same efficient. Tried also CRI80 and CRI70. And CRI80 outperforms CRI70 in quality. Sure we had about 7% less yield. But trichomes and potency was more higher than CRI70 (>25%)
I only ask, why you do not offer CRI80 Kits >3500K. Its ok if someone like CRI70,

can you expand on that? what colors and bins were they exactly?
