Controlling Humidity

I would jsut cover with tape for now...By the time your in flower and the plants are bigger, your humidity will be higher naturally, but you will want lower humidity anyway (Prevent mold at that stage). So you will be taking it out of the room at that point anyway and wont need to worry about light leaks

I do what I can to keep my humidity below 50% Powdery mildew is a bitch! I'm currently at 37% in both rooms.

I was just down in California and was checking out my friends new grow closet. He had added a humidifier after reading on here. It took me less than 2 minutes to point out the PM he had growing since he was keeping it around 65%. He was shocked to see it and removed the humidifier immediately. He also added a larger extraction fan and is now sitting around 45% with no signs of PM.

If you are going to push the humidity you need to have extra fans and don't crowd the room.

I'm running an 8" top exhaust pushing 300cfm and have a 440cfm cooling my lights with an occilating fan and open intake vents, airs moving pretty good

In my experience every time my room got above 50% I had to deal with PM. Air movement is huge in fighting it. Sounds like you should be good to go!

I have water in the corner of the tent and that brought me up to about 29% but how do I raise my humidity and stabilize it?
Looks like the answer so far is humidifier, I'll check back in a couple days and let you know if it actually stabilized1455653594898-826342744.jpgfirst time I've hit 50 or higher though

I got mine up to 35. I have like three jars of water sitting in the back of the tent. I know high humidity could cause mold during flowering but are there any negatives of a low humidity?

Slower root growth, so slower plant growth, I'm not sure if that's all, but it was enough to make me want to try raising it up

Maybe this chart will help, the one thing I will add is the further you get into flower drop that humidity as much as you can to prevent mold I keep mine at 30-40% all through flowering.

Thanks B4L that's the page I read!

Good air movement helps prevent pm also doesn't it?

For sure air movement is the key never, ever shut off your extractor fan, to maintain air movement especially at night mj plants go through a process of transpiration so air movement is very important in all stages of life, but yes, low humidity in flower prevents mold.
