How many busted from this site?

I'm wondering how many people have gotten "popped" for simply posting on this site. I know that it says not to put your personal info on here, but obviously if there are agents patroling this, (which there probably are) all they need is an IP address. Not saying that justifies a warrant, but I've never known police to follow rules. Be smart people. I'd appreiate your thoughts-thanks

Yea, potheads are definately paranoid. But I thought I remembered hearing about a bunch of people going down after overgrow.com did. And speaking of being paranoid, it's possible that there are members of law enforcement masquerading as growers on here... just as they do with online prostitution stings and craigslist. Just because your online using a fake name doesn't at all mean you're anonymous. Don't incriminate yourself. Growhouses are easily spoted by the DEAs new hightech (anywhere) heat imaging satellite system. Though they can spot your glowing house, they can't legally do anything about it, until you are continuously doing sketchy things, like frequenting your local indoor garden store, having lots of company, or posting about your operation on here. I know it sounds paranoid, but that's how it works, and when you have a lot to lose, like most of you probably do, then there is no such thing as too paranoid.

Nah bro i been here awhile and i'm still standin, i feel safe but i don't post my address either, proxy servers or my favorite approach connecting through the neighbors unsecured wireless network make ya feel better in times of paranoia but i think thats mainly it. Feds to worried about alqueda to worry about afarmer. Most of us are small time i doubt the dea would even wanna track us down, just a waste of time and resources.

stealyourface, Got any links to info on this DEA sattelite as google ain't telling me shit and you have to admit it sounds like more paranoia, unless you can show me a non-paranoid refference to this it sounds like bullshit to me.

The DEA satelite info I got from watching some SWAT cops type show on spike or something like that. I know its not a completely legit reference, but it showed agents in Michigan in their office on their computers looking at all the glowing grow houses houses using a software that resembled google earth with heat imaging. The agents were claiming that there were so many, and a lot of them too small scale to waste money or resources on. So you're right about that. But a lot of the time they don't know how small scale you are or realize they have wasted time and money, until after they have busted you, and in most states, even small scale growers(5-100 plants) do time.

100 plants is fed time.

and what you are talking isnt no damn satellite. im sorry but there is no way in hell the DEA would recieve funding for a 'thermal' satellite.... and IMO, it would be total bullshit. Too much shit could get in the way of the satellite. Not to mentions its birdeyes capabilities...they would only be able to look straight down. i could go on and on....but yea what you are referring to is FLIR/thermal cameras. They only monitor surface temp and can be easily defeated if you run your lights in the daytime!

so sorry to bust your conspiracy theory bubble, but it was setting off my bullshit meter

Yeah I saw that too, but on an episode of weeds!! They were in their office looking at heat signatures and they found one that resembled a cross, the one that doug wilson stole! It was last season as agrestic was being burnt to the ground. Chill out, stop being a sketchball!

Don't be sorry to burst my bubble, It probably needs to be bursted, I admit that I'm paranoid. It comes with the territory/lifestyle, and gets worse over time watching friends and neighbors go down. However, where I live, 5-100 plants is the same charge. and its not fed time. I also have friends in law enforcement, but would never let them know whats really up. And by law enforcement, I mean local police, not DEA, which I was referring to. Anyway, its good to hear that you all think I'm a paranoid sketchball, as most of my friends do. Oh, and also I did see that episode of weeds, thats not what I was talking about, I was talking about detroit area swat show. I'm not the type to believe all the bullshit and scare tactics on TV, however it did make me think. So that's not satelite? because it sure looked like it. If anyone has more info about this, I'd appreciate it, and not so much the remarks about me being a paranoid, fucking sketchy douchbag. Thanks

Ok so after looking around for a little while I came across this and I copied and pasted from another site after googled detect: marijuana: satellite. So heres a little blurb from it. Why is it so hard to believe that satellites can pick up infared. I'm not saying the DEA has their own satellite, maybe their renting someone elses... I know I sound like a conspiracy theorsist, what I saw on that show was definately not FLIR on a chopper. I haven't been able to find much more recent info on this topic. Anyone else know about this? Obviously anyone who knows what they're doing will invest in material that blocks heat detection, which can easily be found in indoor grow catalogues, but better safe than, blahblahblah

In 1992, it was reported briefly in the news that the american federal government provided a grant for $643,500 to the Office of National Drug Control Policy (ONDCP) to detect both outdoor and indoor marijuana cultivation, with the use of a satilite. According to the report, the Santa Monica, California Sheriff's Department would team up with NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory to develop the system. According to the 2002 National Drug Control Strategy, the use of Remote sensing would be run by the Department of Defence for the ONDCP, though further information of this project is classified.

loudblunt-Dude- I'm not thinking? Maybe I think too much. Maybe you don't think enough. It really isn't that far fetched. I wish I had your carefree attitude, I'd probably live longer. If you've been in the game long enough, or for any amount of time, you know that paranoia runs rampid among growers. (At least sucsessful ones) The ones who don't give a fuck are the ones who end up in jail. I'm not saying it's good to be paranoid, its actually more harmful, but carefulness and just knowing what technology can bust you probably woun't hurt. Remember that the US prison system is a buisiness! It's all about making money and putting as many people in jail/prison for anything(including growing) Using that reasoning, spending a few million on a satellite, really isn't anything at all.

it would be realistic to think that should the cops bust you, that they may take your computer as evidence, log onto your account and use your postings and/or pics as further evidence against you and your grow if your posting do help to connect you to it.

I doubt what you post here is going to initiate an investigation and bring them to your door unless you present yourself to be an extreme danger, a major operation at the fed level or make it just too easy to find you by posting specific personal identification.
