Mounting surveillance camera in grow tent

Has anyone does this? What method did you use to mount the camera? Pictures would be great too.

These are the cameras I have. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Mounting to the corner pole would be preferred.

I'd like one of these in my garage so I may gaze at my car collection from the bar

even boast to the jerks on the green about how cool they are

but for weed addicts you gotta work on your relationship

with your plants, the very breathe you exhale to them is precious

even your sweet words vibrate their stomata's

its a holistic thing (green, hippy, cool)

google for more

Mainly the camera is to ensure everything is working properly while I am at work. A light coming on with a fan staying off could be detrimental over an 11hr work day.

I attempted zipties with bad results. Ultimately I used a small clamp.

Thanks for the insight fellas!

Might want to make sure the infrared won't disturb the dark cycle

I watched a video on YouTube yesterday of someone doing this he mounted his in the top corner of the grow tent or you could screw the camera mounting to a piece of wood (I used plyboard) then use a D clamp to mount to camera and wood to the tent pole that way it won't swing down when you let go of it... by the way I don't have a camera in my room I thought about the idea then thought against it, I didn't want my grow room on the same system as my house cctv incase something happens and the police end up going through my hdd

before I was just going to steal your weed but now that im on camera I have to kill you. might be somebodys logic. try to stay away from wireless also, shit can be hacked like any other wireless equipment

I have had my fan timer take a shit once and my two 600's ran for 13 hours before I came home from work. all my walls were hot to the touch, my thermometer only goes to 120°F so I'm not sure what the temp was but the plants didn't mind much. just sayin. zip strips is probably your best bet for mounting

Cool thread. I have two different set ups and have gone through three. The ebay ones are good for out side/ inside garage. The absolute best are the Netgear Arlo camera set up. (they sell a 4 pack at best buy for 500) they are easy set up and no one notices there even up. Small, wireless, and battery powered. I have had mine up for 3 months and batteries still say fully charged. Great night vision ect. The wireless app interface is un beatable. It texts you if someone walks by as well as records 2 mins of action every time the motion sensor is tripped. I have 5 arlos around the interior of the house with one of those in my grow tent. The coolest part.... they are magnetic. You can stick them to anything. Wide angle lens gives you a killer view. I always keep a thermometer in view of the camera so I can check on it from time to time while im away as well. Hope this helps! Will post a pic in a min.

What I did at first was had one of the bigger ebay ones mounted to a board that I zip tied to a support in my tent before the arlos.

My grow is small and legal. Cops and robbers arent much of a concern. If someone is going to kill me over 4 stolen pot plants they'd kill me over the several other high ticket items around my home.

I already have the surveillance setup for my home and had the spare camera so cost was $0.

It's a secure system and not wireless. Im sure a good hacker could view my feed - they also could view my internet history and put 2 and 2 together that i am on RIU all day and am likely growing marijuana.

Having the ability to watch the lights, fans, temps, humidity remotely is handy. While you are either A) getting up to check this info or B) finding out after a negative effect - i have total and immediate control of my controlled environment. Afterall, all of us indoor growers are playing god.

I read about infrared quite a bit and though I am no scientist it seemed the general consensus was the infrared from nightvision cameras will not cause any issues to the plants.

I appreciate the comments addressing a solution to my question. Thanks guys.

Usually overkill is cool, but in this case, it's simply ridiculous and unpractical. You would be better served to place one of those drop cams somewhere in the tent. The latest ones can live stream to your phone, have motion sensors, and even alert your cell with a text if there is movement, not to mention the units are the size of one of those bullet cams you have pictured

I'm hoping you're a legal grower, or this is just more evidence for your trial.

I don't know why anyone thinks remote monitoring is too elaborate? ... It's a great tool! The next step would be to add devices to remotely control your environment and feeding/watering. That technology is out there, and personally I think it's really cool.
