How do you behave when you go to restaurants?

So glad we dont have mandatory tipping over here, or classes to serve alcohol, also over here that table would have been told no chance in hell of a refund if they had eaten the meals etc
Yes you do I'm afraid! Ok sometimes!
I always check the bill to see if service is included. If the crooks have put on a surcharge then I WON'T leave a tip at all.

This doesn't apply to every restaurant, only some.

Over here in Spain I'll leave 10 cents tip for a coffee and we only tip a couple of €'s for dinner. However it depends, if you had excellent service then maybe a bit more.

A €10-20 is practically unheard of, unless its a tourist.

I'm not a pain in restaurants but of something arrives cold or not cooked properly I have no issue sending back, practically intact.

Absolutely! For example, if you are gonna send it back, stop at that bite! Don't carry on and then return it. Takes the piss. However if I had chicken which was uncooked then I'd prob be a bit annoyed.

i don't think I've ever sent food back mainly cause I'm afraid some assehole will defile it, but mostly cause I'm a Italian and will eat just about anything
if someone is going to defile the food once its returned they obviously need to be fired.

but that mostly happens at "restaurants" where people arent actually trained chefs they are 20 year olds who microwave a bag and call it a meal.

In all honesty when I go to any restaurant I try being as nice and cool as possible. I'm not so much worried about food rape, but I know the food/service industry can be shitty. My first job ever was in a deli and people could be such dicks. I remember nice customers could literally make my day better with a simple, "have a good one"

Why has no one addressed the most obvious reason for going to a restaurant? The captive audience. I usually only go to hit on the wait staff. I take forever to order so I can flirt. If they don't reciprocate I run them into the ground. Sometimes I just like to see them sweat trying to keep their cool while I am being inappropriate.

The only time I ever hit a girl was in like 2nd grade this ghetto black chick was yelling at me and as I was backing away I tripped on a log and when I got up she started punching me then pulled my shirt over my head like a hockey fight and I just let a right go and nailed her in the face...She then beat my ass until the teacher came over, girl could fight

That just it, notice how most of them say "what are you gonna hit a girl" like they feel they have the right to hit a man and have no reaction, it's bullshit don't touch me and I won't touch you
Yep. I've never hit woman even when I'm being hit by them, but I have REALLY wanted to. It looks so satisfying in these instances. I just think of it in terms of damage: there's no way they are going to hurt me, but I'm a big guy and a trained fighter, so even at a quarter power I'd cause some real damage. If they had a weapon, or really knew how to strike, it may be a different story...

I don't go out much anymore because of the bad service I've received and my wife's cooking is usually better and more plentiful than what I end up getting.

When I do I try to be generous but its really fucking hard when your server is behind the bar/counter playing on their phone and it takes a few attempts to get their attention.

All the fancier places around already have a gratuity added to the bill, that almost makes the service worse as they're getting a tip anyway.

Sorry, might be the area I'm at but I haven't had that great of experiences eating out.

This.

I realize that tips make a difference in a server's livlihood (sp?) but if part of your job is to be informed about the menu choices and pleaant/attentive to your guests, then DO that part of your job. I am quite a low maintenance customer, I just want water and no more than 2 "is everything alights" My kid is a server so I know how much they depend on tips and how shitty some customers can be.

How do I behave? I'm polite, unobtrusive to staff and want to be left alone with my dinner companions. For a woman (we're notoriously bad tippers/hi maint. as a gender) I tip 20-25%.

Late to the party but it all depends at what kinda resturant im at. If i jus go to some hole in the wall spot i like to mind all manners and get out. If im at a fancier spot i like to light up a blunt and c-walk on the salad bar with my dick out

I never complain about wait service, because I know the people need their jobs. And I like to tip well for good service. Bu I think food service people should be paid $15 per hour at least.

I complained one time when I waited over an hour for my food to arrive. The restaurant was really crowded, but an hour? I complained and left.

I complained one night that my Margarita seemed "weak". I got another one, and it was weak too. The next time I came to that restaurant, the bartender had been fired because lots of people complained that his drinks were too weak.

One time when I was young I didn't leave a tip that was big enough for the waiter, and he told me so. Yes he did. I didn't realize 15% was what people are supposed to leave.

i do the same. a 20-30 min wait on saturday is cool. any longer and i'm out. i go out to eat and i'm fucking starving when i get there and don't want to play.....i wanna eat. if i wait in the bar for a table i usually get fucked up and don't notice

Pretty much every establishment that I have ever been in has been dirty, neglected, and the food has either been sub par, not worth the money, the servers were either rude or acted like they didnt care and it has not been a pleasurable experience. There are certian exceptions where I have gotten good service but you might as well roll the dice with every food poisoning and bodily fluid on the dice with only one spot for good hot uncontaminated food and take what you get. I know how to cook why would I want some hungover stoner from riu cooking my food.
