How Bernie Sanders would transform the nation

Be my guest if you're an investment bank, gamble with your own money if you're a commercial bank

You don't get to privatize the profit and subsidize the risk
Sorry?

Was it the banks that subsidised themselves or was it the US Federal Govt who decided to dump their junk on the public?

Yes, why yes he does:mrgreen:
I'm sure you already know, Bernie is not a registered Democrat. He's an Independent, and a self devout Socialist.
I'm sorry to say, when he is out of the picture, the union's support will turn over to Hillary.

Bernie has recently made some ridiculously misinformed and clueless statements regarding Puerto Rico's potential default on it's municipal debt.
..............................................................................................................................................................................................................................................

Mr. Sanders said that what he termed “vulture funds” had been buying up Puerto Rico’s debt for as little as 30 cents on the dollar.

“Why should they get 100 percent of their investment when they are paying 30 to 70 percent for their bonds?” he said.

Mr. Weiss said that some debt securities were yielding 11 percent.

“Whoa!” Mr. Sanders exclaimed. “They are receiving 11 percent and children in Puerto Rico are going hungry. That, for me, is not an equation that works.”

Mr. Sanders said he had heard that some of the bonds the island is in danger of defaulting on might have been issued illegally and perhaps could be torn up. “Should debt be repaid if it was incurred in an unconstitutional way?” he asked, harking back to an argument that changed the course of Detroit’s historic bankruptcy. Whether that was true in Puerto Rico’s case was unclear.

Bernie is conflating the secondary bond market with the primary bond market, and cannot see how a default would hurt the purchasers of the bonds in the primary market....
But what about the widows and orphans and union pension funds that bought Puerto Rico bonds at full face value (and a lower coupon rate)? Does Mr. Sanders care about them? Or should they be screwed just to satisfy Bernie Sanders’s lust to punish Wall Street?
Bernie, Bernie, Bernie...
Good thing he is only running for VP!

The hapless Bernie seems to be misinformed as to the true nature of Denmark's economy as well.
Where is Larry David?

Denmark says it isn’t the socialist utopia Bernie Sanders thinks it is
“I know that some people in the US associate the Nordic model with some sort of socialism. Therefore I would like to make one thing clear. Denmark is far from a socialist planned economy. Denmark is a market economy.”

He's running as a democrat, therefore that would make him a registered democratic for this exercise.

"The Nordic model is an expanded welfare state which provides a high level of security to its citizens, but it is also a successful market economy with much freedom to pursue your dreams and live your life as you wish."

So yeah, it's a social democracy.

I agree, but tell that to Bernie as he seemingly exudes palpable loathing, hatred and contempt for "markets"...free or otherwise.
He doesn't like them either!

The best thing about Bernie is that he is not Hillary.

We are a year out now....oh, baby, what fun!

"Soci-capi" doesn't exist, it's called a Social Democracy.

You only hurt your cause by not using commonly used terms.

Bernie is close to what you actually want, but he thinks a little too far left (despite the fact he'll never achieve his stated goals, even if all the other candidates died and he won by default).

Why don't you just move over here? You can say youre Canadian and live as an illegal immigrant.

Just watch loads of Colin Farrel movies and noone wil suspect a thing.
