Parents!!!!! Growing with younger children... Do you explain?

I have not once advocated involving kids with growing. I just don't understand how any parent would ever keep it under wraps completely with a kid as old as 8 or 10..

Much like sex, I don't think children should have any idea that such activity is going on.
Why do you keep using sex as an example?.. Its not the social norm to do that act in the open. Its weaksauce.

Its ok to drink in the open, smoke a cig in the open, have a cup of coffee in the open.. all acceptable practices to consume intoxicants or mind altering substances in the open.

Or are you going to win this argument with false logic and volume.. ?

I see both sides. We are now to a point that this plant is helping children.

We have a problem with the gray area of it. Its taboo. How do you break the taboo without teaching kids the truth about it.

I mean your liable to get your house broke into or killed just for having pain pills. It happens all the time.

I think at the end of the day each person has to do what is right in their own heart.
What percent of "legal" medical users are legitimately using it for medical needs? California gives out a prescription for weed for pretty much anything. Can you imagine if they gave out dilaudid or morphine like that? People who stay high all the
Yeah you are allowed to own a NFA weapon.. tax stamp and extensive background check. As long as your state allows it.
The mechanisms used to outlaw NFA items is the same as what is used to outlaw marijuana and growing wheat(When the government wants - and yes, the bread kind) in your yard for your own personal use. The federal government has no power to outlaw(or force you to buy) anything except through the SCOTUS's interpretation of the interstate commerce clause. Marijuana is illegal federally and since the federal law is preemptive - any state law that legalizes marijuana (just like NFA items) is trumped by federal law. I'm not sure why you don't understand this.

It isn't the social norm to smoke weed in public. Drinking and smoking are both restricted in public.

I've had friends live with me for 6 months that didn't smoke and they didn't even know I smoked marijuana while I ran a grow room in the house.

I've been a member here for 5 years. I've had friends stay with me
Ok.. So you made it for 6 months..
More than one occasion for adults living here. My family doesn't know. Kids don't know.
Do you think you'll never talk to them about it??? Do you wait until the day they turn 18?
Probably about the same time I talk to them about how I bend their mom over and have my way with her daily.

I hear the point about just choosing not to grow if you have kids.

For us, it was whether it was worth it - as buying it is just no longer an option. Not enough at least. We decided it was worth it to grow. And I don't know how you'd hide it? I truly understand the resistance to this though...

Im not intentionally being a dick or trying to tell you how to be a parent but its a simple answer when it involves kids.

You arent the first to pose this question on Rollitup but in the end the answer is always the same, kids and drugs is always wrong.

There will be ways round this so dont be disheartened just get clever?

I appreciate that 2hearts. Like I said before.. Now that they are flowering, I'm not as comfortable with them being around as I was when they were just little green plants. Ive found myself zippin the tent when they come around.. And expect this to be the trend. Gave me a knot in my stomach.

No, it isn't possible. The only route is through my bedroom door which remains locked at all times with a keyed lock. Through a folding closet door there is another keyed locking door that is the grow room. Even if I forgot the bedroom door one day, they would have to think to try the door. Then they would have to go to one of the two closets and then I would have to have left the door unlocked to the growroom. They might see a garbage can full of liquid or small fuse panel with some stuff plugged into it. My house never smells, I don't leave my equipment laying around, I never smell of marijuana or smoke around kids, people don't come over and talk about it in front of my kids (maybe 2 people come over that even know I smoke marijuana).

Even without growing, I can't imagine letting my kids hang out in my room.

I just don't understand how parents go about this. I just know I need the medicine, and cannot afford what I need.. You know?

Why do you think it does that?

Sorry some people don't think cannabis is a taboo. At one time it wasn't. We should be back to that point. Cannabis is illegal for crooked reasons.

I don't know what the answer is. Personally my kids don't know. I feel like its wrong to have to be that way though.
