New grower, I need advice

Just to restate what Budzbudda said and add to it there is quite often a large variation in what traits in a certain strain become dominant. Since there are usually several different types of genetics mixed up in an auto sometimes there can be wide variations in what the offspring will look like because of which genes become dominant. That's why they can look so different.

As far as finish time he pretty well laid it out. You need to watch your trichs. I use a magnifier that is 2 lenses in one case that gives about 20X magnification to look at my trichs. I chop when a few trichs have turned amber on my Indica dominant strains. That seems to give the best results in the Indica dominants when I use it for my arthritis. For just plain getting high I like a Sativa with trichs just cloudy, that gives a nice up high.

On my last grow I had a smallish Auto Ultimate that had some amber trichs at about day 65, however I only chopped to the bottom set of branches since those trichs were still clear. I am still letting those finish. They are on day 72 now. The rest of my grow. some auto lemons an auto haze and a couple of Fantasmo expresses I chopped then completely down when they showed amber trichs except for the Haze, I took her a few days earlier before the trichs turned.. They were pretty uniformly done.
You have any pics of your autos, I deffenently would like to see em.

when growing autos, be mindful that its not so much the width of the pot ur using, but the length; as auto roots grow straight down and do not spread much. Start the plant off using the deepest pot you can find...and at least 10 inches wide...a ph OF 6- 6.3 is fine. if you have an extra 10 to 14 days, you can top these plants very early(2nd week) but top only once as it will slow down the budding process but will certainly increase your yield.

Yeah with this being my first grow I didn't really want to do anything to them, scared to know. But they seem to be doing well, I don't have a ph tester atm but I've been using distilled water from Walgreens. Haven't really ran into any problems so far so at this moment I'm happy

Mrgrnthumb on ig uses tap water and never ph balances...some methods work great for some and the same method may destroy some...bottom line, know ur NPK...Nitrogen-Phosphorus and Potassium....

Yeah, I'm going to buy a ph tester asap, I want to get a good one so I'm saving a little cash. If I have a 2ft by 4ft by 6ft tent, you think I could fit 3 autos in there, my next run will be 1 candy cane and some Buddha randoms

Sure u can fir 4 in a SOG, the triple cheese i have are growing very sturdy and straight upwards...I probably could fit 6 in there...remember ur pot can be as small as whatever, but get the deepest pot u can find and u will see a good result...atleast a foot or more deep

How are u downloading pics on here? I can show u how mine look later in the week , my grow is in D.C. And i live an hour n half away bcuz of laws but ill take some pics when i get there

And here is week 7, big one looks a lot better but I'm loosing a lot of fan leaves(I think that's normal?!) and the little one is light year ahead of the big one. Starting to get some little brown dots on the leavers of the little one. Should I worry this late into flower??

Photos are fun too, I don't limit myself except for how much space I have. I don't really get the people who only do one or the other.
The reason people do one or the other is because they use two very different light schedules to flower.
Autos flower best using 18-20 hrs
Photos 6-12hrs.
Personally i have tried a few autoflowers but after the crappy yield vs amount of hydro with longer flowering times just not worth it imo.
I think photos are better suited for outdoor where theres a chance you could run two cycles in one season.

My next run are photos, I did autos as my first grow so I could get my feet wet. A cool ass guy on here sent me some sweet gear he made, so I got them going in this little box I made till the autos are don't. I will try my fist scrog as well
