Platinum LED

For the most part, the research I conducted through that site and a few others is what ossified my decision to purchase the Pled's. Now after a few months of reading more in depth a multitude of subjects and getting a "feel" for what each site has to offer, I find myself here the most.

If what you fellas say is correct about the Pled's, I will need your advice a little down the road for this grow to be best it can be!
bro there is no doubt that you can grow great bud with that light. If you have the correct wattage and good coverage you are good for this grow.

I have a little Platinum P150 for veg and I love that little thing. I think they're decent lights for the money. Would I flower with one? It's questionable. Lol

I think all the LED panels suck for the price. You have to build your own if you want something good.

instead of "correct wattage" i should have said sufficient PAR.
Wattage sounds like the correct term (since he probably doesn't have a PAR meter). He's going to need 40-50w/sq ft if Platinum LED uses epi-whatever diodes. I'd try to get 30w/sq ft coverage from the light and add Cree "lightbulbs" or PAR 38 spots/floods for sidelight to bring it up to 40-45..

Does PLED not give you what they claim? PLED site shows Bridgelux, not EPI????
See:

Platinum Series LED Lights use only top quality 3w high output LEDs from makers such as US made Bridgelux and Epistar
-- http://platinumgrowlights.com/faq
This is how the scammy LED companies operate. When they say "We use Bridgelux" that doesn't preclude using anything else. If they used Bridgelux just once in the past, or as one diode out of all the diodes in the fixture, they can say "We use Bridgelux."

That's not a far-fetched viewpoint when you consider how they deliberately try to confuse potential AdvancedLED customers, using the name "Advanced Platinum LED" and the same product photos as AdvancedLED. They're certainly capable of wordsmithing as described.

They say P450 covers a 4ft x 4.5ft at 18inches?. For a 250 some watt fixture to cover an area like that you would have to put it atleast 30 inches. At 18inches that fixture will cover a 2 x 3 MAX!

They will always find some unknowing person to sell to, that's why their claims are so outrageous because they cater to the uneducated crowd. Just look at these lights http://stores.lushledlighting.com/ overpriced as all hell and I know people that will fight you over saying anything negative about these junk even when you show them quality LEDs. They just are completely sold on junk and their minds wont be changed.

No wonder riu has zero led panel sponsors.....it's the lions den in here ;-)

That why I am on this site! Not the others! Those other sites get behind companies that most likely wont even be around in 2-3 years! Don't get me wrong I go on others ,but never log in! RIU members will tell u how it is.If u listen !Fine! If not! They tell ya to kick rocks! Yes there are members that will try to lean ya 1 direction, but the guys that got LEGIT skills will come in and help! I hope you all could follow my ramble. There should be more threads like this to expose the companies that pray on new members! But it might cause some shit too! I think the biggest problem with new members is the LED tech curve? Fast pace to say the least!

I own an Advanced Platinum P150 (150w) and I can say I was afraid because one reads a lot of reviews from people who don't own one, so you don't know how bad it can be and that it sometimes makes you doubt.

When I purchased it, I simply went by a recommendation from a friend, the 5 year warranty convinced me, later I read all sort of reviews and had to spend a couple of weeks reading about PAR, wavelengths, etc. After that, I was still in doubt. After my research I think it does equals to an 250HPS in PAR and in theory, but I have no results to compare to.

I have never grown with HPS, only with CFL and Outdoors. This is my first crop with this LED and I'm not scared anymore. This last harvest is the 5th AK47 I grow from the same package, and the yield seems to be equal to previous harvests of its siblings.

A WW I have on the same tent is enormous, way bigger than with CFL and using a smaller pot than the one I used with CFL and outdoors, leaves are dark green, bunch of colas and starting to make buds. I'm optimistic on it. It resembles a fem ( not auto ) WW I had outdoors in size, but this one looks more promising in terms of speed and number of pistils, smell is also way sweeter and stronger than before, using the same nutes, not sure if that has to do with the lights or not.

Area is 20x36" or 1.6x3' - Check out my journal below for specifics and pictures.

i had noticed that. i am kinda new here. i spend time on riu mostly learning from the led threads. i was astonished by the huge gap in informed lighting discussion between riu and 420.
420 has an amazing array of banner led advertisements and plenty of growers supporting the bloated claims of their sponsors.

Someone said that this site is the epicenter of the LED world! I second that! Horticulture that is! Most info For LED tech is exaggerated! Companies tryin to pray on people! There are so many tricks that are getting played on people to sell units! There is a low range , mid , upper! The problem is lots of low to mid range units getting sold for 50% too much! Sure all fixtures will grow a plant! But most will not grow that 3-5 oz ladie your lookin for!

they boast an excellent return policy and warranty.
Check out the pled gardeners over on 420. There are a bunch of journals showing great looking plants under pled lamps..The high brix/pled grows seem very successful.

i got a new optic vero 360 instead of a pled 900. Im gonna post a few pics of it soon.
