Hey, like it was said earlier ... real men listen to Coltrane. They also listen to Carl Perkins. Oh yeah ... Roberta Flack was killer too ... like in "killing me softly." Great album.

tips ...

A friend has gotten me into Country & Western over the past year. Amazing music, musicianship ... and the lyrics are incredible.

Have you ever noticed a similarity between Country & Western and Hawaiian music?

I have not listened to that much hawaiian music...I did go to a Don Ho concert in honolulu many years ago...he dropped his ukulele and then stepped on it...most people thought it part of his act, but I think he was drunk....

Check out some Hawaiian music and listen to the steel guitars playing. Then compare that to the steel guitars you hear in Country & Western.

Kind of like what came first ... the chicken or the egg? ~lol~

Country has gone more rock in their last few years. Back when it was a nasal twang and lyrics like "My girlfrien left me and my dog just died", I didn't bother listening. Now it has replaced the rock of the 60-70s with some real social message and more of a rock beat, while rock has gone into devil worship and undefined guitar riffs. I like rock up to the 90s then it pretty much sucks, no more Beatles, Pink Floyd, Led Zepplin, etc, etc. I tried Jazz in the 60s, more like junkie music.
