I think that i have male and female but want to be 100% does anybody know how long it is before a male is ready to pollinate? As i wanna give them a couple more days to make sure. I'm just into early stages of 12/12 (9days) all comments welcome.

Males will start to pop their sacs at around 4-5 weeks in some strains later in others.

Why don't you save the pollen for if you care to cross breed the strain? I find obtaining males extremely difficult and wish more companies and collectives would sell it. Creating your own genetics is very exciting.

Cheers nice thought on the pollen but wont that risk pollinating other plants. i meen even if i'm careful pollen can get every where so might separate it and force back to veg and wait till the others are done.:bigjoint:

Take the male away from your girls and let it grow, then place a bag over it turn it upside down and shake vigourously. Tie the bag up and store well away from any girls and use within a month, I found after a month pollination didnt work too well.

i am thirteen days into 12/12 and i went 5 days without looking at the plants and one of the males looked like it had an open pollen sack open. Am i fertalized? I took it out but am really pissed at the idea that it just spoiled my crop with one little ball sack popping.

I have about ten seedlings that are a mix of male and female and I wanted to put them in with my vegging females under the 1000w, do I not have to worry about fertilization until deep into flowering?

What we do - Put your females in flower a week before male plants. This will give your female 3-4 weeks of growing flower before the male will open and release pollen. You want to have some god size buds developed before the pollen hits them. Once they get pollinated the plant stops growing bud and focuses on seed development.
