Its funny because I m a hydro guy, but Im running promix now. But I ver been thinking about 5 gal dro set ups. Are those the 5 gal tops with the little net in them. How much hydroton do you need for each 5 gal?

There top hats its like a plastic screen then clay pebbles but the buckets are wrapped in smart pots to much light goin thru the buckets. Hydroton? I fill them with water till a 1/2 inch under the buckets lip. Also im running X nutrients was running canna but the only grow store that has it i refuse to buy anything from them anymore over priced assholes. But i highly recommend it fast vigorous growth and low maintenance(you only gotta change the buckets water every 2 weeks and make sure air pumps are running fine)

I got ya now prob. 2-3 cups per 5 gal bucket the place im working at has garbage bags full uf em so i didnt have to go buy em

So do you let the reservoirs get low over the 2 weeks or keep adding more water to keep it at a steady level?

Let them get low the root balls are massive and as long as your roots are touching the water your fine but it never gets lower then halfway when its time to change

Root ball is massive theyre deff. drinkin alot more then they have so i check water levels and to make sure all the pumps are pumping every morning

The white line in the bucket is where the water started like i said theyre drinkin alot and i just changed the water 4 days ago gunna have to start changing the water every week

Imo, promix is hydro dirt. I love it. It will always be hydro or promix for me.
The reason I asked about the res. is to find out how open you would be for an experiment. The way I do hydro is a little different. my main goal is to keep everything stable for the plant. I top off my res. everyday with about 1/2-1 gal of water and adjust the ph and ppms. I suggest you give this a shot with one of your girls and compare results. You have a tds/ph meter?

I am 100% sure that the water at that level has different ppms/ph than the white line level. But I have never used those nutrients before so you would know them better. I am talking basic hydro theory, thats not so basic.

Always open to experiment bruh im not a close minded fuck that thinks he knows everything im always down to learn new things. But yeah i test the ph when i change and one week after change and ill adjust anything that needs adjusting

I used to do it that way before because it was less maintenance. Now I do a little everyday. It suck that im in dirt right now I dont have any dro pics on this computer. But my biggest dro plant was 3 ozs off a 18" plants. Straight up bud, no stem. Im tryna get my dirt yield up now. I know I can do it, because I did it with dro before.

Hell yea my outdoor was like that found a seed in abag of cookies(from my neighbor the only thing shefound a hermie on was her bubba kush from gh seeds) and cut clones from her and like i said straight nug but i didnt get them out till late in the season didnt resemble cookies more a super sweet diesely cherry pie smell and taste but fuckin baseball bat sized nugs that started from the stock! My land lord told me henever seen buds that big his whole time growing(over 35 years)
