Hi everybody well I took LSD 3 months ago and had one of the worst most terrifying trips of my life I had taken LSD roughly 15 times before this but this is the first bad trip I've had I have a solid connection and I test all my acid so I know it was real LSD not any of that nbome crap only thing I can think of is that I must have been in a negative mindset I always here people refer to set and setting but have never really understood these concepts can someone please explain to me how to avoid bad trips like this in the future.

Set and setting is having you be in a comfortable mindsermt, no stress ir outside expectations. Also being in a physical space that is cimfortable, nin threatening, warm and benevolent. A jail cell is not such a place. A hospital room is not. Your clean living room with encouraging and pleasant friends, no more than a few, is a nice setting. Your nit having trouble at work, with a loved one, with impending social, medical or legal problems and a cleared schedule for a day will be of great help.

However, even with all this, in the higher doses you must be willing to surrender to the experience completely and absolutely, even the scary parts. Do not be fooled by those who claim that a strong personality or the ability to "tell yoursel it is just a drug", is indemnification from a horrifying experience. It can, and most likely will happen to anyone who continues to take large doses.

I recommend you learn and keep a chant handy, it is the best tool for heavy excursions.

Seriously, if you're having a bad trip from real LSD it's all psychological. You have managed to dredge up some nasty shit from your unconscious and it's making you uncomfortable. That is actually a good thing because you can face it head on while most of the time it's hidden where you can't touch it or see it. Look at it as a wonderful opportunity.

Think about what it was that sent your trip sideways. LSD is trying to tell you something. LSD isn't all flowers and bunny rabits, it can be rolling around the floor screaming and crying at how the world fucked you up when you were too young to fight back. And make no mistake, the world did fuck you up when you were little. You were just an innocent little baby and the world came along and yanked you out of the womb and ape raped you and lied to you telling you everything would be all right.

Who you're with and where you are is a big deal. Only takes say a pissed bloke jibbering at you sometimes to put things on a strange slant. Here's an example ;
Mushrooms, not acid.
Three of us, good friends who tripped together in all sorts regularly. Sat in a flat having the best time, really twisted but we had our little bubble sorted- good vibes.
A guy we knew popped over randomly, he was on speed and booze.
That was just about ok but then he changed the music very abruptly and proceeded to whip out a can of lighter refill gas then inhale a load of it!!!!! The minute the tunes changed and I smelt butane in the air our trip started going bad.
Long story short, it went real bad and two of us left the building and the culprit behind. My hallucinations were reality bending on a rediculous scale, so were my mates. After stumbling in broad daylight through this town we hit countryside. After falling about in these fields surrounded by a herd of cows that became a black and White entity, a blob of writhing legs and hoofs, we lay down and accepted the fact that we were dying and on our way off!!!
Sometime later we came round, still tripping but much better.
From that point onwards I only ever trip with certain people and if I venture from whatever safe haven I started in, I go to nature or wherever I know there's only good vibes. I love tripping at festivals but always start with E's or Mandy so I'm loved up as I come up.

You're completely right I never looked at it that way it's kind of like therapy for you're mind now that I think about it someone close to me had been diagnosed with cancer that probably had something to do with it

The bad trip I described above is the only truly bad trip I've had. The reason I say this because there was no facing of past demons or the resulting soul cleanse. It was pure vibe destruction.
I agree with what you say, being able to face suppressed issues with the ego and bullshit free influence of acid is liberating to say the least.
It's never easy facing past hurt or the negative things that you may have done yourself. It's refreshing to look with the eyes of a child, pure, right or wrong good or bad it's that simple so deal with it!!!

SO you didn't have a bad trip, you got wigged out by some weirdo methy drunko..welcome to the world..this happens when you're sober,or,well it's supposed to..but you've been desensitized...all too common..and it shouldn't be..lsd showed you that...

"Cows giving kerosene,he can't read at seventeen, the words he knows are all obscene...but it's all right.?"

There are no bad trips, only difficult trips.

Think of a difficult trip as an opportunity in disguise.
I disagree kervork.......I know someone personally who took a trip 25 plus years ago and when it was all over .....part of him was left at his destination point and didn't make the return trip. He currently resides in a group home
